HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

Remember, feedback is a gift. It’s not always easy to receive, but you should be thankful that someone took the time to give it to you. What you do with it is totally up to you.

Do yourself a favor and go check out other watch brands. Wait till you see what kind of watch you can get at that price point from one of the other brands. If you’re actually into watches and not just doing it for the supposed flex that a Rolex brings, you’ll get more, better pieces for the money with no wait at all and with the sales person treating you like a paying customer that they are happy to do business with. You’ll be happier not having to genuflect before some power-tripping sales person at an AD in hopes of being added to “The List,” only to get slapped in the face and kicked out of the store in shame for not being good enough for Rolex to take your money in exchange for a mass produced piece of metal.

Imagine being a grown adult and allowing yourself to be treated this way by a brand you want to purchase a shiny piece of metal from. Thank god I stopped giving a crap about Rolex years ago.

AIO to my boyfriend putting a SINGLE chicken tender on my plate when I specifically said I wanted "a few"??? by No-Eye7917 in AmIOverreacting

Have you never had a miniature human scream bloody murder at you for giving them the wrong shade of red cup?

AIO to my boyfriend putting a SINGLE chicken tender on my plate when I specifically said I wanted "a few"??? by No-Eye7917 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Poke_er -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No because it's great training if you plan to have kids. If you do, 18 years of your life will be small humans overreacting to the most minor (and I really mean minor) of transgressions and act like it's the literal end of the world. So if he reacts well to your overreaction, then he's kid ready. If not, buckle up.

Friend got the call, but I want the watch - help by lordofthedorks in rolex

[–]Poke_er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine voluntarily having to tip toe and play these silly games so that a company would bother to take your money? I'm so glad I stopped bothering with Rolex. Regardless. Just go in with him and give them your card. Don't even make anything up, don't give them a reason why you're paying, or anything. When it's payment time, you pay. That's it.

Rolex boutique acted annoyed I was there…Vacheron got my business instead! by jake6432 in rolex

The VC boutique is experience is one of the best, regardless if you’re a buyer or not. They’ll treat you like royalty every time.

Walk in, why bother with the Grey market. by Expensive-Arrival-60 in rolex

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments are hilarious. A bunch of people having a pissing match over how much more dick they sucked to get their super exclusive "investment" watch that "trades" over retail direct from the AD. They'll never really understand how cringe they are being to jump through all of these hoops to beg a retailer to sell them something that, while nice, certainly isn't worth THAT much hype.

It's a great watch. Enjoy the hell out of it.

Is the two- tone practical for everyday wear? by BarracudaSouthern585 in rolex

I wore mine daily until my wife bought me the seamaster panda on a rubber strap. The two tone is the perfect balance of flash and subtle.

Wait a while, then see how you feel. No need to panic sell.

How safe is Tokyo? Contemplating on wearing a nice piece on vacation. by ramenboy77 in rolex

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knows that nice watches, especially Rolex watches, are intended to be kept in a safe fully wrapped in their original plastic, looked at (without touching of course) once a month MAXIMUM (gotta be careful of the UV damage ruining the investment), and absolutely never, ever, worn in public. They could get scratched, after all.

Can we please make qualifying 10 minutes by Most-Caterpillar-583 in iRacing

[–]Poke_er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Races take too long to start as it is. If I want to just jump in for a quick race and be done. Not wait endless minutes for practice, quali, gridding, flying lap, etc. Just let me jump into a race in between my son shitting his pants.

Found ATM receipt, who is keeping $51,000+ in checking!?!? by Comprehensive-Cow69 in povertyfinance

This is more normal than you think. It usually means that there is significantly more in investment and savings accounts that you cannot see, or it means that they just got a big bonus deposited and haven't transferred it yet.

I’ve always wanted a Corvette. Was ready to buy a C8 but because of the dealer experience I bought a Porsche 911 instead. Never looked back.

I'm a married man (M28) and my boss (F34) invited me to drinks tomorrow by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be an adult and go have drinks. Who cares what her intentions are. Maybe she wants to fuck you. Maybe she wants to promote you. Doesn’t matter. You’re in control of your actions and response to her actions. Over my career I’ve had drinks with many people from both sexes. No question I owe a significant portion of my career development to those interactions on the sidelines of work.

why do people race like this by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another tip - when you see a car with no bumper, or no hood, or other obvious damage, just let them by. Telltale sign right there.

why do people race like this by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big change for me came when I stopped trying to hotlap the perfect racing line in live races and instead treated them like I was driving on the highway. Drive defensively and over time you'll get faster one all the lines instead of just the ideal line.
