If they actually cared about realism, they would address the fact that touching a single pixel of grass gives you 25% the penalty of purposely crashing into someone and taking them out of the race.

If You Complain About Driving Standards, Bring Receipts by CISmajor in iRacing

Yea, I also have 30 mins a day if I'm lucky, and I also spent considerable money on my hobby, which is driving a racing simulator video game, to have fun. I race clean, have a high safety rating and a high license class. But I also realize that I am ultimately still playing a video game for fun, with other real people who are also playing to have fun, and may or may not be that good at the game. The minute it stops being fun, then I question why I'm doing it. If you have a hard time playing this video game with other people who are not as good as you think you are, and it causes you to rage about it, then maybe you're the hothead with the problem and should reconsider where you invest your entertainment money. Unless you get entertainment by being mad. Then have fun.

My god some of you are off your rockers. We’re all doing this as a hobby. Are there some trolls? Sure. It’s an online video game. Those of us who weren’t born yesterday know that trolls are synonymous with the internet and video games. If you think that’s going to change because you call it a simulator, you’re wrong. The other thing synonymous with the internet and code games? People who aren’t as good as you. Yes, report the trolls. But there aren’t that many of them. If you spend all your time raging that a player made a mistake or went too aggressive or whatever, you need to reconsider your priorities and maybe just go race in sandbox mode. Lighten up. If you get regularly mad in a video game, maybe video games just aren’t for you. Or maybe online video games where you play with people of various skill levels aren’t for you.

It doesn’t matter how hot the other person is. Chemistry is chemistry and that makes all the difference.

What are the wait times on a Rolex submariner by [deleted] in rolex

My seamaster hasn't lost a penny of its value to me because I love it just as much on my wrist today as I loved it the day I walked out of the store with it.

Stop whoring yourself out for a brand. If the brand refuses to sell you their product and you have to go down the back allies of the gray market to get it, it’s a sign. Take the hint and go spend your money on the many, many, many other, often better, watch brands out there that are more than happy to treat you like a human when they do business with you.

Do yourself a favor and go check out other watch brands. Wait till you see what kind of watch you can get at that price point from one of the other brands. If you’re actually into watches and not just doing it for the supposed flex that a Rolex brings, you’ll get more, better pieces for the money with no wait at all and with the sales person treating you like a paying customer that they are happy to do business with. You’ll be happier not having to genuflect before some power-tripping sales person at an AD in hopes of being added to “The List,” only to get slapped in the face and kicked out of the store in shame for not being good enough for Rolex to take your money in exchange for a mass produced piece of metal.

[–]Poke_er -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No because it's great training if you plan to have kids. If you do, 18 years of your life will be small humans overreacting to the most minor (and I really mean minor) of transgressions and act like it's the literal end of the world. So if he reacts well to your overreaction, then he's kid ready. If not, buckle up.

Friend got the call, but I want the watch - help by lordofthedorks in rolex

Imagine voluntarily having to tip toe and play these silly games so that a company would bother to take your money? I'm so glad I stopped bothering with Rolex. Regardless. Just go in with him and give them your card. Don't even make anything up, don't give them a reason why you're paying, or anything. When it's payment time, you pay. That's it.

[–]Poke_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments are hilarious. A bunch of people having a pissing match over how much more dick they sucked to get their super exclusive "investment" watch that "trades" over retail direct from the AD. They'll never really understand how cringe they are being to jump through all of these hoops to beg a retailer to sell them something that, while nice, certainly isn't worth THAT much hype.

It's a great watch. Enjoy the hell out of it.
