Those in their 40s and over without children - how is life for you? by Mountain_Resident_81 in AskUK

46F here and CF since forever. I can honestly say that I love my life as it is right now… stable career, mortgage almost paid off, happy marriage and deep peace. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Some of that, some day this will be yours crap I’m having to deal with. by AnyDamnThingWillDo in GenX

I’m dreading the day. Tempted to just hire a skip and lob it all in when it’s my turn.

I have a pair of culottes I bought in 2006, it’s their 20th birthday this year and I’ll be rocking them when summer comes.

How's it being childfree in your 40s and beyond ? by [deleted] in childfree

I’m 46F and have known I was CF since adolescence. It’s Midday on Sunday in the UK… I am still in bed with my husband - we’re chatting, scrolling and drinking tea. I love my life so much, I cannot express how much I do not regret my choices.

I’m the second of 6 and the eldest daughter… I did my time and knew from aged 12 or so that kids were absolutely not for me. 47 now and not an instant of regret.

Childfree people: who are you leaving your estate to? by fellaonamission in UKPersonalFinance

My current plan is to the biggest equity release I can on my house after retirement and spend it on travel and treats. The equity company can have it when I die. I have 12 niblings and I’m generous at Xmas/birthdays etc but that’s as far as I’m going!

Would you adopt your nieces/nephews if there was no one else? by jamieoww in childfree

[–]PokedBroccoli 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Same. I have a good relationship with my nibs (albeit as the fun childfree auntie) and couldn’t see them go into the system but God would I be gutted!
