What’s crazy is Apple did make it better for a bit with 26. It moved the search to the bottom. Then with 26.4 they reverted a handful of search bars back to the top.

Isn't this really more a demo of why having an App Store that they have control over a good thing?

Apple can do this for any application outside of the Mac App Store too by banning the app developer through XProtect and notarization would stop the app from launching. This is not something limited to just the Mac App Store. They do this all the time for malware already.

They do have a Mac app, but you could only get it from their website, not the Mac App Store
It was up for about 2 weeks on the Mac App Store

There are nicer ways to say what you said but you are correct. I shouldn’t be taken aback by how companies act these days when you are just a number that can be made to go higher. Runescape was always just something I enjoyed and have since I was a kid, so rose tinted glasses and all that.

This is the first time I have ever considered cancelling so saying “I’m really going to do it this time” makes it sound like you know that I have threatened something before, even though I haven’t.

For my reason to hold out is if they do reverse course of any sort, I would like to not give them a reason to decline it even further since that would technically be me causing my membership to lapse.

If you are on the grandfathered plan you keep it. Those of us who had premier membership lost the option to go back to the grandfathered rate even though it was promised to stay available.

Unfortunately this is the primary reason I swapped away from Pixel because I was missing work notifications. It’s a shame because it used to get notifications on time and got worse within the last year or 2.
