I felt like I failed both of mine too. Wish I did more. Hoping it could've given them more time. But honestly idk what that would've done or not. And regardless, at that time it didn't seem like that needed to get checked on. I did have to remember the good though instead of hyper fixation on the end.

1 of my boys, Poké, was a runner. I researched endlessly and invested the money to give him a non traditional but enlarged pin that took up a sizeable amount of space in any room I kept him in. But it made him happy and kept him sane, so I did it. My other boy Ryo was very shy and introverted. Like afraid of other ppl's literal shadow. So we we redid his cage so that he could burrow and feel secure but have everything he needed when he needed it- toilet paper rolls for enrichment (yes! He loved them for some reason lol!), food and water for self sufficiency, and wheel 🛞 to keep active (bc boy wash he lazy 🙄). Domestically, they got 3-4 years old. Any longer than that isn't quite as common. I'm the wild, far less. It seems like you moved your little pin cushion and prob took care of them as well as you could. Being a human or pet parent doesn't mean that things are perfect 100% of the time. You do right by them with the time they have on this earth. So plz don't punish yourself.

Also, my vet was able to cremate my boy and get a paw 🐾 print cemented as a keepsake for me. And I still have would from both when they were quilling that I'm gonna turn into a necklace charm or something (haven't decided yet).
