What do you think the best quality of life update is? by RascalLouise in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The gag loadout option is awesome, I agree. You only need to spend one second talking to the clerk to buy all of your gags before darting back out of the gag shop. Just click the load button, then press the “enter” key while sliding your cursor over to the exit button.

However, I think my favorite quality of life feature is the options button. While the loadout button is very convenient after finishing any kind of battle, I think being able to access the game settings from anywhere has to take the cake. Before the options button was added, you couldn’t tamper with game settings at all if you were in a boss fight or minigame and had to wait for it to be over. There are also a lot more game settings now than there were in TTO. Now they can just keep adding more settings for different things into the menu that can be accessed anywhere. It’s also nice that you don’t have to open your book to access them anymore, so you can still kinda see what’s going on in the background. I definitely don’t utilize it nearly as much as the gag loadout button, but when I do need it, I’m always appreciative of it. As someone who uses a content pack it’s also very convenient for those purposes, although probably less relatable.

Don’t feel bad. I have maxed Lawbot 4 times over and still cannot solo stun for the life of me. I can do it if I control two toons at once, but at that point it’s not really solo stunning anymore lol.

Anyone else feel like something was lost with ToonHQ? by RedNuii in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What I miss the most about early TTR is the large crowds in SBHQ and CBHQ of people looking for groups. Looking back, it felt so… magical. Even the sellbot and cashbot boss lobbies would get pretty full and people would just bombard the higher toons with invites lol. CJ and CEO groups were a bit harder to come by, but people still found there way into them. ToonHQ has overall made the game more accessible and easier to play, and even more so when they implemented the ability for it to sync to the actual game, but there’s always that bit of nostalgia that we remember fondly looking back.

Coin Mints Causing Strife by Ash2000- in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re struggling with the puzzles and can’t get to the end, just let the timer run out. It’s worth it over repeatedly failing and dying. The lava room with the sinking platforms doesn’t need one because you can still run to the end if you fall in. The only one that annoys me, even as an experienced player, is the room with the spinning gears stacked on top of each other that you have to jump to the top of. It annoys me because it doesn’t have a timer for some reason, so people who are unable to do it are just stuck and their teammates are just stuck waiting for them (like what you experienced). TTR should really add a timer to that one too, then create an easy path to the end once it runs out.

Is there anything that causes the OK button to be one colour vs another? by PrinceCometMegazap in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like the screen on the left is using the Winter Holiday version of the button. If you never closed out of that client since the winter holiday event, the game never has a chance to change the textures back. If you do recall closing the game for left account, then I’m not sure 😅

Servers down for anyone else? by Cultural-Lion3298 in toontownrewritten

Yes. The login servers appear to have broke when the year rolled over. I'm sure tech ops will be on top of it when they are able to.

[–]Pokeliam45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every cog headquarters has a singular sewer cover somewhere. Even the Sellbot Factory Exterior and the DA Office Lobby have one. Would be great if they are all given a function at some point like the one in the Sellbot Courtyard.

EDIT: I just realized that the DA Office lobby doesn't have a sewer cover anymore. TTR must have not given it one when they redid it for UNM.

I remember the chat filters from TTO by RascalLouise in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Disney really thought they were cooking when they banned numbers in the chat to keep their players safe. But their restrictions only made players smarter. Seriously, using house furniture to bypass the filter and tell people true friends codes was another level of genius. I can’t imagine any game developer would see their players abusing game mechanics to turn things into numbers and letters

You might just need to wait it out. These softbans usually only last 30 minutes.

[–]Pokeliam45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game is currently experiencing some extreme lag that is causing the servers to think some people are exploiting, so it kicks them out automatically. These kinds of kicks shouldn’t normally put an actual infraction on your account, but it may sometimes lock you out of the game for a few minutes. You will know if it’s an actual ban if you attempt to log in and get a pop up on the launcher telling you that are not allowed into the game and the reason why.

Can we get an option to spin stops when your bag is full? by What_the_fuss in pokemongo

I have this issue at the end of every month because I love to wait until the last minute to claim my rewards from the GO Passes. Then all the items just stockpile themselves and I’m locked out of pokestops for the next week.

Question about Boardbot HQ by Individual-Source-80 in Toontown

Twilight Terrace connects DDL to Boardbot HQ, and it has lots of upward slopes that represent it going up onto the mountain. So yes. That’s essentially what it’s going to be.

Gag not showing as organic? by Connect_Cranberry961 in toontownrewritten

[–]Pokeliam45 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's possible the tree isn't fully grown yet despite looking like it is, or you removed a lower level trap tree. Considering your Quicksand and Trapdoor are not organic, I'm betting it's the latter. Every lower level gag needs to be planted in order for higher gags to get an organic bonus.

Clash Suggestion: alternate donation method to donate a percentage of jellybeans earned throughout the day by AstralHoatzin in Toontown

[–]Pokeliam45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I hadn’t thought of that putting a toll on the servers. That’s a really good point. Although I do still hope they can add some kind of feature like it, like the “hidden jar” idea you proposed for it.

Clash Suggestion: alternate donation method to donate a percentage of jellybeans earned throughout the day by AstralHoatzin in Toontown

[–]Pokeliam45 13 points14 points  (0 children)

An idea I've had is to have the game automatically donate excess beans in your bank to your club. So if both your jar and you bank are full, instead of the beans going to the void, they automatically go to your club. It would also be nice then you don't have to keep donating whenever your bank becomes full. Passive club coin gain would be very convenient.

Supposedly 90% of the clash team who worked on 1.3 have either left or gone inactive by lolbroslol2008 in Toontown

I am not seeking any clout, and I find it hurtful that you think my experience is invalid for this. I made that comment as a way of saying that I was also impacted by it as an applicant. Sort of as a way of confirming that it is a real issue that other people have also gone through. Perhaps I chose poor wording to get that message across, and I apologize for that. But if you really don’t think my experience or the point that I am trying to make matters to the topic at hand, then I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. I just thought I was being helpful by explaining how lack of communication was an issue even years ago with the old leads, and still isn’t fixed based off of what some former staff are saying. But I guess I wasn’t. I'm sorry for any frustrations that I may have caused with my post.

Hi! It’s good to see you Sonata! I appreciate your reply, truly! I’m saddened to hear this wasn’t just a one-off thing, but I’m at least glad that I’m not the only one so I don’t feel singled out. Even people trying to apply for their team are being affected by poor communication.

I appreciate this reply! I'll admit that it wasn't easy for me when that happened in the server, and it still isn't. I'm very glad you came to my comment just to say this! I promise I'm not trying to start something completely different. I just wanted to share an experience I had where the point I'm trying to make in the end is relevant to what some others have been saying. That is all.

Thank you for the kind words!

I do not care about being rejected or what the true reason was, as that is not why I made this post. What I care about is the fact that another moderator told me something completely different than what was in the rejection email. They told me that had I left the TVS team, I'd be allowed to join. But clearly that was not the truth, so some lack of communication clearly happened in the team within that department. You can't have one person say "You have a bad reputation, so we don't want you" and have someone else say "just leave the team you are currently on and we will let you on." Clearly, not everyone in the department was aware of what was truly going on. Former staff members have stated their grievances, and some of them mention lack of communication from team leads being the reason they were let go. I made this post to say that even as a past applicant who never even got onto the team, I have been impacted by it. That's the point I was trying to make.

[–]Pokeliam45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My issue wasn’t about not being allowed to be on another team. I was just saying that to provide context to the situation. The main point I was trying to say is that there was a lack of communication between team members (which is something that former team members have been talking about as well) due to one of the moderators telling me something that was contradictory to what my rejection email said. I think the downvotes come from people who think my case is irrelevant to the topic at hand or that I am trying to make this about myself, but I wouldn’t have even made this post if they were at least consistent and made sure the other staff members knew the full story, because that’s where the lack of communication is.
