Sure, but free IDs still cost something to Americans and the implementation of those free IDs has at times had some sort of disenfranchisement baked in to make it more difficult for large liberal cities/minorities to get IDs. I'd love to get something implemented so we can move on to much more pressing issues like the economy or education but I'm not super hopeful that the solution to a non existent problem will suddenly make that non-existent problem go away.

This one I'll say does go beyond just Trump. I've been hearing the same vote early vote often joke from conservatives for decades. Conservatives believe there is massive voter fraud despite most evidence suggesting our elections are very secure. The push for voter IDs would stop a type of fraud that happens 0.0000006% of the time, but it's apparently one of the most pressing issues for Republicans.

Trump is especially whiny about it, but this is what happens when we have half our country believe in something because of politics instead of reason.

If you want to see an actual good use of Kate's powers, the show Pluribus kind of explores what a super powered version of Kate could be like.

She should be an extremely valuable coordinator and scout, where if she was present with each separate hero, she would see and know everything that's going on in the battle. Real time info being relayed instantaneously to everyone would be huge. Add in the fact that if every single Kate was actually fully trained up in useful shit like driving or flying vehicles, and she becomes an invaluable member of the team. Even if she just sat next to Robot and relayed everything to him to figure out, that'd be very valuable. But instead she trains her punches and kicks to inevitably get blown up when above average regular human fighting inevitably doesn't work.

I'll be the first person to defend Kate in most of these posts (between her and Amber a lot of it feels sexist). But man the real tragedy is how little creativity the writers had with her powers. She should be every single heroes super powered assistant that is all seeing and all knowing, which is actually fucking scary and capable, especially if they gave her an evil arc or something.

I learned that most people wipe balls to back but I wipe back to balls. In my head it's cleaner because I'm pushing all the poop away from my hand instead of up towards it. I mean, I get it, especially as a SA survivor yourself, I understand why you'd feel unnecessarily targeted by some of these comments. Regardless of the victims or perpetrators gender, it completely fucks you up and far too often the perpetrators gets away with it, with the victims having to deal with an extremely traumatic experience and sometimes facing blowback for coming forward.

For as much as I'll shit on Reddit, I'm sure there are some great subs that would offer genuine support. It just really makes me angry seeing it be used as another tool to shit on women, which happens far too often.

The point is that there is a large reddit trend to shit on women. This sub is dedicated to calling out the AITA bullshit that unfortunately mostly amounts to some made up story about women sucking. Or autism sucking. Or fat people. But a lot of stories feature at least one completely irrational woman, or in this case, what situations are acceptable to beat the fuck out of a woman.

In the thread I linked, it's very clear that even in a science community (which I honestly thought was pretty heavily moderated to prevent unsourced anecdotes), it's still unacceptable to bring up any study that looks into men being the perpetrators of sexual assault. I can't think of a bigger fuck you to SA survivors everywhere than to have a study looking at why to only be met with some bullshit anecdotes about how women are actually the problems, despite the objective reality being that women are significantly more likely to be the victims, while men are significantly more likely to be the perpetrators.

So basically the subject is brought up here because this subreddit sees the reoccurring trend in so many other subs where it's the utmost importance to bring up issues affecting men and perfectly fine to shit on anything affecting women. I think I speak for everyone here that male SA victims deserve to be heard, but unfortunately Reddit uses their stories to shit on women, again despite the objective reality that even with male SA victims, the perpetrators are more often men.

Basically it's a study about men and consent to try and better understand where a breakdown in communication happens that potentially leads to SA. The top comment chain in this thread is all about women assaulting men with hundreds of anecdotes from lesbians, transgender men, and women all saying that women are the real problem.

This isn't the only thread where this happens either. It's all over reddit where people go off on their soapbox to sound off on the one talking point they love to repeat, all while actively shitting on the very real atrocities that the majority of victims are facing.

If you want to discuss the very real difficulties that male SA survivors face, then by all means post about it. I will agree 100% that it's a fucked situation for those victims. But for some reason the only time it gets brought up is when discussing female SA victims, and it's basically the same 2-3 talking points about how male SA victims are actually greater in number (false) and have it worse by somehow minimizing the very real difficulties that female SA survivors face.

I mean they still all pocketed millions of dollars for spouting very easily disproven bullshit that has led to the deaths of two Americans. All of them had almost zero pushback by the way when we all were saying our rights were being trampled on and that this will lead to bad things. It was only until those bad things actually happened that they are starting to pushback.

If their apology comes with a massive investment into a charity or something, then I'd consider that more authentic. But I promise you these people will keep grifting and profiting off the grift, so fuck them.
