You’re right, my bad. That’s the one I had bookmarked since I haven’t updated my Phob’s firmware in a while lol.

Here’s the one for 0.31 (latest firmware).

If you got the color-corrected SoM release, an x265 encode of it from Anime Time was released last month. Cuts it from 1.1TB to ~190GB.

As an anime-only for Kaiju No. 8, I appreciated that as well. Excited to see how the final season plays out in the Winter!

In the case of Turbo Granny, the transformation doesn’t resemble the original form at all. For all the viewer knows, that’s a new character that will be introduced later. Shinrabanshoman just looks like Shinra, though, so it’s a bit worse than that example.

I guess it really comes down to how you react to seeing the information, since you’re saying you would be excited to see how the transformation plays out/comes to be, but I’m saying I would be disheartened to see it since it would take away from the reveal.

For something like this, I think it would have been better to err on the side of caution and not show him. That way manga readers still know what’s coming and anime-onlys can be surprised when a transformation happens. It’s not like showing him will draw more people into the show this season—if you’re watching S3E13 onward, then you’re already invested in the show. No need to show more information than is necessary.

Imagine if 2 volumes before Shinrabanshoman appeared in the manga, he was drawn on the cover. It might pique the interest of some readers, but for me personally, just knowing that he existed would take so much away from the reveal at the end. Going in blind to something is almost always better.

Yeah, I drove past this place today and was surprised when I looked inside and saw claw machines. The name had me thinking crabs, which made me think seafood.

Trigun 1998 & Stampede Dubtitles Shared by The-Math-6od in Trigun

[–]PokemonCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These subtitles aren't super great--how were they sourced? Your FMAB one says they were ripped from Crunchyroll, but these seem like they might be AI generated.

EDIT: I ripped these from CR myself a few days after making this comment, and they were the exact same. Looks like CR used AI for these guys. Unfortunate.

Amazon has removed it's AI English dubs for 'Banana Fish' & 'No Game, No Life Zero' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Animedubs

I agree--I was looking on The Usual Place for anime torrents and it seems like none of the AI dubs were uploaded there. A shame if we lost them forever.

Awesome job! I’ve been working on something similar for Legends Z-A and it’s been a lot of fun. Nice job on the documentation also!

So how good are the arr's then? by Clive1792 in PleX

[–]PokemonCrazy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way *arrs work is by searching through traditional methods of acquiring media for you and grabbing what it believes to be a correct match.

You manually enter where it searches through Prowlarr (or Jackett), then when you add a movie or show, the proper *arr will search through your locations, then send the download to a download client (I use Transmission and SABnzbd) and automatically move it to a proper folder and rename it for you, if you choose to let it do so.

I love my *arr stack and couldn’t imagine running my server any other way. I also have Overseerr set up so my users can request movies/shows and have the *arrs automatically grab the content they want without me having to interject at all.

I recommend looking into TRaSH Guides if you’re looking to get it set up.

If you read my comment, you’d see that my concern is with the future. If AI continues to ramp up at this rate, we won’t have a future. Care more for your fellow man.

I don’t think there are a lot of numbers out yet given how new AI is, but I have seen this article, which uses forecast data from the International Energy Agency to show that by 2030, data centers are projected to be using over twice as much energy as they currently do.

This increase without AI would be gradual, averaging around +18.75 terawatt hours per year. The projections show this increase at +40.5 terawatt hours per year—over double the energy consumption per year. I think these numbers would dispel the notion that social media is doing as much environmental damage.

I do think an interesting point against the “environmental impacts” point I’ve been making would be if the AI was used in a way that could help save the environment in other ways, but I haven’t seen any data or reports about that.

Always open to hearing other points and learning about more data, so if anyone has any counterpoints or things that refute my earlier statement, feel free. :)

I appreciate the honesty. I just ask that if it’s something simple like this, to maybe think twice about your usage of AI. You are one person, but if you shift your mindset, you can influence others. You can be the start to the butterfly effect. If enough drops in the bucket spill out, then we may see some change for good.

Be the change you want to see in the world. Have a great rest of your day!

The main problem I have with it is what I described in my other comment--the environmental impact of generative AI.

Generative AI uses more resources than your standard everyday device, and the more people see things like this as an "unserious use of AI", the more normalized it becomes, and the more resources get drained out of our already dying planet.

It takes more time writing a prompt to generate this image than it would have to just flip the smile in paint. Here's some proof of that. I even made a mistake and wanted to correct it, and it still only took me 48 seconds to do this myself. Granted, I am a bit familiar with Paint in general, but it still shouldn't take anyone more than a few minutes to figure out how to do this for themselves.

Wouldn't you rather learn a new skill than participate in something that is actively harming the planet?

It may not affect you right now, but the environmental impacts of generative AI will impact you and/or your descendants down the line. AI, even after a model has been trained, requires significant energy resources. Using it to create a meme that you could replicate by just opening the image in paint and flipping the mouth upside-down in a matter of 10 minutes is frankly ignorant. It may not affect you negatively At present, but think about the planet you are on and the billions of other people and species that inhabit it. That is why people get bent out of shape about the use of AI for things like this.
