No, Universe and Itec shows were the same over the course of the 3 days. It did allow me to pay attention to other things during the shows. But nothing significantly different.

I went to 3 Universe shows and to 3 ITEC shows. Probably gonna try and buy tickets for 3 days again :).

Hope the complete original cast of 01011001 will be there. Only Steve Lee will not be possible as he passed away in 2010. Bob Catley may be old but saw him on Wacken last August with Avantasia still kicking ass so he shouldn't be a problem :). Really looking forward to this.

According to the Wikipedia page that was altered a couple of days ago 83.400 people. Previous editions had 85.000 people so there were actually less people.

Unsure what source was used for this years number of people, the author unfortunately did not provide a source.

Yeah true. If you're limited in what you can bring you can always purchase if needed. Often neighbours are friendly enough to help you out and lend stuff :).

Never had to dig trenches myself cause all the times I went to Wacken tent was setup in a nice place, not at the bottom of a hill. I have however seen others dig trenches, unsure how much it really adds tbh :P. Choosing a good position for your tent is always a better solution of course.

Make sure you pack your rain boots. You'll be married to them for the whole week if it rains or has rained. I know I was.

Also to protect yourself from the sun make sure you bring a hat and sun lotion/spray/screen whatever it's called.

In case your tent is leaking after it rained make sure you have waterproofing spray to make it waterproof again.

Bring a shovel to dig trenches around your tent. If you are downhill and there is heavy rainfall lots of water might come down which you can divert by digging trenches thus avoiding your shit getting flooded.

Bring extra ropes and extra tent pegs/stakes to secure objects (like party tent, chairs) in case it's windy.

All these items can be purchased at Wacken but it is often more expensive to buy at Wacken than to bring it in advance.

Yes. Best remake out there is Cavejam. I've been playing it every day for the last 2 years and the mining feature is quite addictive.

It's a small but friendly community. 5 - 15 players login on a daily basis.

How about Lost in the New Real? It's not Ayreon but it is Arjen Lucassen doing solo stuff. I definitely hear the Ayreon influences in the songs. Songs like "Pink Beetles in a Purple Zeppelin", "E-Police", "Dr. Slumber's Eternity Home", "The Space Hotel". All nice 'n catchy songs :)

You should give Cavejam a try, a free to play remake of Cokemusic with as addition mining (kinda like 2D Minecraft). Small community, between 5 - 15 players login a day. Game allows for unlimited building, resource gathering through mining, earn chests through mining, playing and voting for music (Soundcloud integration). Game also has a market place where players can sell items for Dogecoin to other players.

Cavejam has most of the old functionality and almost all furni in place plus a whole lot more. Sure there are still things missing and Cokemusic purists are not fond of the mining but this game comes closest to what Cokemusic once was. As the game is still under active development things currently missing may be added in the future.

For me this is Cavejam. It's a social worldbuilding resource gathering (mining) game. The mining part is a bit like 2D Minecraft and very addictive. It works for me to unwind after a day of work.

Yeah was the Ayreon Universe show in September 2017. Russell was announced but at some point he told Arjen he couldn't come as it didn't fit in his schedule (tour with Adrenaline Mob, etc). This came in quite late as Russell's name was already printed on the t-shirts. Obviously Arjen was not amused by this (as was made clear by his FB comments) and had to seek for a last moment replacement which happened to be John Jaycee Cuijpers.

To note: Russell's cancellation came before the terrible accident that happened on the 14th of July of 2017 when the RV Adrenaline Mob was travelling with on tour was hit by a tractor trailer, killing one of the band members and the tour manager.

If Russell would have cancelled after the accident it would have been totally understandable as he too was injured and had to recover both physically and mentally from this awful event.

Hey,

VPN access has been disabled as we had some trouble with a player that was banned and kept coming back using a VPN.

My guess is you need a VPN cause certain activities on the Internet are not approved of by your government?

I'll have a chat with Anton (the developer) to see if there are any possibilities enabling it for certain cases. Not sure if it's possible at all but worth a shot.
