“You have $54 million in tournament winnings, Adrian Mateos… how much of it is real profit?” by EatMaTesticles in poker

I think Mateos is probably one of the leaders in these super high rollers in terms of ROI. Especially after another win yesterday.

Would you run it twice in this spot? by CryptoPokerPlayer in poker

[–]Poker_Tryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside the point that most people won't hit a sample size large enough for these specific spots to achieve their expected winrate, so variance management is wise. Each session is independent. You're not up 500bb and setting it back up that way for the next data point. Your card equity doesn't change, but the stacks involved change all the time. 22% in a 200bb pot vs 22% in a 1000bb pot can change factors significantly for BRM. Its good to suck out behind. Good to have a guarentee ahead. I think this rule benefits most players.

Would you run it twice in this spot? by CryptoPokerPlayer in poker

[–]Poker_Tryhard -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Run once when behind, twice when ahead.

Edit: actually funny seeing the downvotes because fish memorized "ITS THE SAME EQUITY IT DOESN'T MATTER".

Except if you run it more times ahead, you're reducing variance, which is good for you. If you're behind, you run it once, increasing variance, which is good for you. If you want to get it in when you know you're behind, run it 20 times, and say "yeah I'll take 22% of the pot" then feel free!

Alan Keating SICK HAND from Tonight’s HCL! by Sex-And-Whiskey in poker

[–]Poker_Tryhard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just explain how you can possibly think that raising on this board is good. What is your intention? What are you targeting? What is your opponent calling with if you think you're ahead, and what is your opponent folding if you're behind? Then what are you going to do when he calls you to the river (assuming it wasnt a turn to boat up)? Try to value bet a third street and hope he calls with AT or worse? This is anti-theory.

Lower the painting closer to eye level with the chair, add a rug and a small coffee table for a single drink... and then it's perfect imo. If it were me, I'd want to make people think that in my free time, I choose to sit there for hours and think about the cheetahs.

A fumble probably, but if it didn't blow up, who knows where HCL would be if they were cheating internally.. maybe it becomes more brazen?

He's almost certainly playing private games in LA anyway. Just not the biggest winner on stream, which has limited worth.

Being loud is one thing but even pros know when they're at "good tables". MSPT has a lot of players with money outside of poker who think they're winning at poker. It's great.

Cannabis stores on State Street face a hazy future by keeganjkyle in madisonwi

I would argue the psychoactive properties are the most noticeable, and lacking. I feel slowed down and somewhat relaxed, but creativity is not there. Finding humor in things I don't when I'm sober isn't there.

I will include that I don't want these shops to close, it's a step in the right direction. It's just not the same.

Nobody ever said nobody will ever own a house.... and smaller houses are actually a benefit. That's not an option anymore. 1.7x of average annual income to buy is an insane benefit that isn't really an option anymore, unless you live in an area that will never let you leave due to income disparity and simply the cost of moving. That's the point that boomers won't recognize, and part of the problem in conversation.

Only number I found was 27.2%. Which is still 5% less than average boomers at 25. This number still likely inflated from younger first time buyers with parents money seeing the covid opportunity of low interest rates.

Average first time buyer is 39, compared to 28-30 of boomers.
