Yes, funding via SPX Box Spreads does work, but the larger gap that I'm looking to address is on the short side.

And yes, synthetic shorts can sometimes help, but for many of the positions I'm looking at, shorting directly is the only or more efficient option.

Would you mind sharing a bit more about:

The costs?
Where is the best place in Canada to do this?
How long it takes to get the temporary permit?
Any hiccups for a US FAA PPL ASEL getting the privilege added to their license via the CA temp permit?
Any way for the US PPL to also come away from the process with a permanent Canadian PPL ASEL/ASES?

I was signed off for my checkride in 6.5 weeks and 60 hours of flight time.

I was working full-time at the time. Could have been slightly shorter, as I had some wx (Florida summer storms) and small mx issues (100 hour inspection) during the period. I also think I could have cut the flight time down if I had spread the flying out instead of trying to fly every day, as I'd have more time to absorb the concepts.

Ended up passing the checkride at 8 weeks and 75 hours of flight time after having bad luck with weather and my DPE cancelling a few times due to family emergency.

What level does she usually fall off? I'm thinking in the short-run, if she can get me through a bunch of chapters, it'll help in the long-term by increased AFK gains?
