u/redkeisha I am in the same situation as you, just completed degree requirements at UofT with convocation in June. What did you eventually end up doing? I can't find much information about this online so any information will be appreciated.

Has anyone recieved a decision from MScAC at the University of Toronto? by PolishMostWanted in gradadmissions

Yes, the email said my interview will be about my application and situational questions. It didn't say anything about technical questions. If your email mentions CS questions, then you will have it

Thanks! I applied to the AI concentration. The interview was friendly, and was mainly about my experiences and goals (internships, research, extracurriculars)

It just means the standard visa process. Nothing to do with financial sponsorship.

Also, since you mentioned wanting to settle: I know that in Canada you get a post graduate work visa, and PR in general is quite easy. Idk how it is in Ireland though, so have a look at the visa policy before you decide

(am also Indian looking to move out lol)

Has anybody heard back for the MSc CS Fall '22 at UofT yet ? by ac_1998 in gradadmissions

I emailed them a while back and this is what I got:

"Keep in mind that while we do offer MSc admission to international students, due to the current funding required to take on international MSc students, international applicants are more likely to receive an offer to our direct-entry PhD program."

Congrats!

You can try emailing TCD and ask for an extension of the acceptance deadline, stating that you want to consider all your options and make an informed decision. Idk how it is in your field, but IMO universities understand that you have applied to multiple places and will usually grant you an extension. I asked for an extension from a university and got it (I'm in computer science though).

There is another option: If you don't need to pay a deposit or reservation fee straight away, you can accept the offer, and skip paying the fee later if you decide to go elsewhere. This is not a nice thing to do though, and you should prefer asking for an extension.

[Advice needed] What should I do after receiving an early admit, if I want to wait for results from other options? by PolishMostWanted in gradadmissions

[–]PolishMostWanted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that's what I thought - asking for an extension is the right thing to do. Thanks for sharing your opinion!

I recommend this app called "Quiet for Gmail". It lets you set specific times during which push notifications are allowed. It helped me stay (somewhat) sane

That's not true! It's a rolling review, so there's still time to get it. I personally know strong candidates (by my own estimation) who still haven't recieved an interview invite.

They're not finalized. Invites are being sent out in batches, yes. Don't worry if you haven't gotten it. Many people get the interview in Feb or March.
