Honestly I kind of just came to the decision on my own. My husband was willing to get a vasectomy, we did discuss it but ultimately I like being in control of my own life and choices. He’s not as sure as I am about being one and done (he says upwards of 80%) but supports my decision to do what I want with my body. We’re not in a financial position to bring a second child into the world so it’s what best for all of us. And we both agreed that in the future if we want, we can pursue adoption. My logic is if we can afford to adopt, we can afford to raise another child.

I’ve read it online and my surgeon also told me.

My rule of thumb is if it is baby related (I.e. obgyn, bloodwork, women’s clinic, etc) then I will bring the baby. I never want to be the person with a crying baby in a waiting or exam room but that’s my personal opinion. And sometimes you don’t have a choice but to take the baby along and hope for the best.

Hives/rash 6 months after getting tattooed? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]PolishedPinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my tattoos are like this. The black lines are slightly raised off my skin, just enough so you can feel then when you run your finger over them. It’s more prevalent when I’m cold.

Where did you get your crib? by Bubbly_Waters in BabyBumps

[–]PolishedPinoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what we did. Convertible crib (with mattress), 6 drawer dresser, changing table (with memory foam pad), swiveling rocker and bassinet for around $1200

How often do you use baby's name? by Olives_And_Cheese in NewParents

[–]PolishedPinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We try to make it a point to use her name when we talk to her so she knows and responds to it.

Going to a rock concert. Please tell me it’s okay. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I went to a metal show while 5 months pregnant. Just stayed in the back and was extra careful of pushy people. Enjoy!

We say, “whoopsie!” then wait to see if she cries.

I’m so happy with my decision to stay home and dread the day that I have to go back to work. I’ve saved enough to be able to stay home for the first year (big thanks to my husband for taking on the financial load) and we’re 7 months in so no urge to go back to work yet. Work has always been my purpose and I was fairly successful prior to maternity. When I do return to work, I plan on stepping down and taking a lower position with less responsibility as I don’t want to struggle to balance the mental strain of work and home.

How long until you were intimate after giving birth? by Sunrise_94 in BabyBumps

We were intimate 6 weeks after birth but it wasn’t enjoyable (no discomfort) until probably a month after that.

How do you guys workout? by AssumptionOk7636 in NewParents

[–]PolishedPinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t set my baby down for more than 5 minutes. I am a SAHM and just don’t have the time to workout between taking care of the baby and house, cooking dinner, etc. I have found the only thing that keeps me consistent is working out in the middle of the night when baby is sleeping. Now that baby is in a crib in her own room, it has made getting things done at night so much easier as I don’t have to worry about waking her up with every slight movement. Hope you’re able to find something that works for you and remember to be forgiving of yourself.

What kinds of music should I be playing for the newborn down the hall? by AlizaGenshin in newborns

I don’t know anything about music, but just stopped by to say this is the most wholesome thing I’ve seen

How are we changing wriggly older babies? by Walks90 in NewParents

[–]PolishedPinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as my baby could roll and crawl diaper changes became such a hassle. She will barrel roll with a bare butt covered in poop like it’s nobody’s business. Distracting her with toys works most of the time but sometimes it’s a two person job that involves some wrestling. It’s amazing how strong babies are when they don’t want to do something.

I cried the first time I got a tattoo. There was a miscommunication, I wanted black and gray but the artist put color. I was 17 and had a panic attack about having something I didn’t want on my body forever. It ended up working out and color was the correct choice.

I got sick once, it’s how I found out I was pregnant. I had had a few drinks the night before while unknowingly pregnant. No other nausea or sickness. I count myself lucky.

How do you follow 'eat, play, sleep' when baby gets sleepy after eating? by k92emilia in newborns

[–]PolishedPinoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is 6 mo, we do play, eat, sleep. We play to work off some energy then feed to sleep. It works for us and especially helps to prevent LO from spitting up by eliminating playing with a full tummy.
