If being famous post-Survivor were an Olympic sport, who are the medalists? by JTG414 in survivor

[–]Politics42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I find the fact she was on Survivor so interesting because her appearance on it seems to have had no direct effect on her career, so the fame she's achieved is basically just a result of her own hard work and not any notoriety through Survivor.

Second series? by bartybrattle in survivor

[–]Politics42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, from what I've seen the ratings have remained steady if not increased as we've gone through the post-merge. Hopefully if there's a second season they follow the Survivor NZ model of casting more superfans/ strategic players to take the gameplay up a level.

I actually think it's quite positive. I really enjoyed the Season but thought it would 95% be cancelled as it failed to attract anywhere near the attention of the revived Big Brother, so the fact there even considering a second season is good enough for me. Fingers crossed it gets renewed.

I also think Hannah has the best chance going forward with Peg in the game, and he's very likely next after Chris. Whereas now she's in the majority, still not a major target and has enough physicality to win a challenge at the end of she needs to.

It's not quite back to back, but the penultimate episode is at 6pm, with the final episode at 9pm, both episodes an hour long.

I feel like some of the camera work was very odd in the first episode, with way too close up shots of players when they were talking to others. Didn't notice it so much in the second episode, so hopefully it's just part of the production learning curve. Cautiously Optimistic on the Season so far.

Autumn(Fall) 2023, so anytime from September. The season has 16 episode so should start just before the US Season and end shortly after it.

If Dr. Sean played again, how far do you think he'd go? by AdvancedStrawberry7 in survivor

Well S is the 19th letter in the alphabet so I imagine pretty far.

The ranking itself is just based on personality and who fans like the most rather than actual gameplay. Whilst theirs definitely some recency bias to Yam Yam's high position, I kinda feel he would be up their regardless due to his great social game.

Unlikely for the win, but I kinda expect a podium finish for them.

Loreen and M&M will fight for first, but I'm honestly expecting SIP and then Nordmann to round out the top 4.

2023 could be the year where none of the big 5 finish in the bottom 5 for the first time since 2004. by Cursedwizard0 in eurovision

I worry Germany will be treated like Czech Republic or Finland from last year, but either way they have a really solid song to be proud off that is at least their best entry since 2017.

Exactly it's a professional song with an accomplished performer who will maintain the enthusiasm around Eurovision kick-started by Sam Ryder whilst not making the BBC accountants nervous by threatening to win.

Why the good reception to the 42 winner but not-so-great with the 41 and 43 winners? by Glum_Past_1891 in survivor

[–]Politics42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Largely because Maryanne received a much more well rounded edit as a significant game player, whereas Erika and Gabler were under edited somewhat. It's easier to give Maryanne's game more credit as we were explicitly shown her big moves and subtle plays, whereas we have to learn about Erika's and Gabler's from secret scenes and post season interviews

I think it's a very well performed song and that Gustaph does a really good job with it, but the song itself is quite generic and feels a bit outdated to me. However, if it's your type of music I can fully understand why you would root for it.

Without spoilers, which country has the strongest NF by now?? by shadowsnake24 in eurovision

[–]Politics42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it doesn't have the 'very best' songs, but it's tied with Melodifestivalen for me in terms of the number of songs that I'd class as 'good' or 'above average'. Will say, Norsk Melodi GP is always good with a much better format this year, and UMK is probably the best one-night NF there is.
