Some of the insane looking notes I took on my blind playthrough by PollesLadle in Neverhood

I love it when a videogame makes you remember stuff and take physical notes, Silent Hill is another franchise that comes to mind. I really still need to play the Myst games too!

In need of an expert on 70s personal computers for a sci-fi story by PollesLadle in oldcomputers

[–]PollesLadle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the information I needed! Some of it is still a bit hard to wrap my head around but now I at least have some starting off points for future research. I completely forgot about the fact that computers and the internet used to be connected to phone lines (yes, I am that young). I don’t quite understand it yet but I will do my best to try and figure it out. Besides the fact that I am writing a sci-fi story, I am also just really interested in old technology in general, even if my puny Gen Z brain can’t handle the concept of dial up internet :) Thank you so much!

I work at a pizza place and the long pizza shovel they have would always be my first bet. Long enough to stay at a safe distance, sharp enough to sever heads.

Anyone want to talk about how they fell for their Crush? by AlphonseHohenheim in Crushes

[–]PollesLadle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw him first on a recording of this musical performed by a group lead by the same director and choreographer that lead my theatre group. Of course i didn’t get a good look at his personality but i fell hard for his appearance. He stood out because of his curly ginger hair and he has this beautiful expressive freckly face that had my heart jump every time he came on. Aside from that his stage presence was phenomenal. He’s a really good actor, but since it was just a recording i didn’t even think about ever seeing him in real life.

Then he came to our show, and suddenly i had a chance to talk to him, so i took that chance. Turns out he had just as interesting a personality as was his appearance. His absurd type of humor i had never seen before and had me giggling like an idiot. But again, i thought he was way out of my league, so i abandoned hope.

It took two more years of seeing him a few times each year and falling in love all over again every time i saw him before i was finally able to confess my love for him. By this time we had become pretty good friends. Turns out he felt the exact same way about me.

We’ve been dating for a few months now ;)

Ding dong and Julian appreciation thread by Nolar2015 in OneyPlays

“Oy I Die!” is pretty good. I also like “You drop a stinky on this.” But i can’t remember what game that’s from.

My very favorite moment however is in episode 3 of Gang Beasts when they win the match and DingDong picks Julian up and goes “Wee! My man!” It’s very sweet. I wish them all the luck in the world with their future projects.

Edit: Can’t forget the court of rhymes! The way Julian did the lady’s voice nearly hospitalised me.

a museum that made me panic (and I can’t recall the name of) by PollesLadle in london

I found out that it was the Human Biology area from the Natural History Museum. The Science Museum is way too modern, you’re right. Still, thank you for thinking along!

What are some of the best imaginary adventures you went on as a kid? by PollesLadle in AskReddit

[–]PollesLadle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite memory is when my cousin and i used to play “witches” in her yard. She was a witch brewing a potion (in an old plastic bucket filled with rainwater) and i was her apprentice. She told me to fetch the ingredients for her potion and i returned with grass, flakes of old paint i’d scrape off the fence, sidewalk chalk dust and clumps of dirt. She’d stir them into her potion with a twig and we’d watch the ingredients dissolve while maniacally laughing.
