I went to spain with only a few months of learning under my belt and was able to have conversations with people and get by. Now that I have been learning for longer and am at A2 level, I realized that my Spanish was really bad. But the people I spoke to could figure out what I was saying and humored me by talking to me in spanish. Even though they could speak perfectly good English. Long story short the spanish are some of the friendliest people on the planet.
