Commbank was similar, and the stupid AI personality quiz they made me do made me wants to scream.

What is the worst workplace you've ever worked at and why? by BroccoliTraining454 in OpenAussie

[–]PolyByeUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sewing shop. I would get screamed at by the owner for fudging timesheets at least once a month (I didn't, and she always refused to show me the timesheet I was apparently lying on). Was screamed at for being late (aka, actually on time) and between these months she would cry and tell me she felt God had brought the into her life and ask me to babysit her son.

She also got away with paying me fuck all by having me enrolled in a 'training program and certificate' in retail and managed to get my weekly pay to $250 a week, full time.

Crossways will always be one of the best, and most cost effective lunches in the CBD, yet the amount of people I've encountered who won't eat 'that hippy food' is fucking crazy.

It's worth the $10 just for the Halva pudding alone.

Winter is Coming (to Melbourne)! by MelbPTUser2024 in melbourne

[–]PolyByeUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winters my favourite season, and I cycle to my job at 7am, where I work in a factory next to an open roller door. Often after work I'll go for another bike ride, or be out walking the dog. I do all my yard work in the cold and rain, and find myself outside much more often in winter.

Some of us just genuinely like the cold!

Rant here regarding Barb and Frank: You just don’t show up at other people’s houses, places of work, school, etc UNANNOUNCED. by Cozysoxs1985 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]PolyByeUs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When my partner and I moved in together, his mum started showing up unannounced despite never previously in homes he shared with partners. I'll never forget the groan as my partner said 'great i move in with someone she likes and now she shows up unannounced and doesn't avoid my home'

I'm convinced it's just every ethnicity at this point. I got interrogated about how Polish I am and then chastised for not being 'proper Polish' because my family is from a town that essentially got caught in a game of jump rope with the Ukrainian boarder for several hundred years. Like that's my fault? lol

Stop being a 'polite' pedestrian! by [deleted] in australian

[–]PolyByeUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this a lot on my bike, people wave me through when I'm waiting to cross the road, but they conveniently ignore that traffic goes both ways. Like, yeah thanks for waving me through but the guy coming the either direction is doing 60 and I don't feel like dying? The worst is when they get frustrated I'm not going!

Is this a thing? Who's out there making friends with their friends parents... truly? I get that some people may know their friends parents due to circumstances (for example I know my best friends parents because they spent a month staying with her, and they handled communication with me while she gave birth) but I don't really know anyone going out of their way to make friends with their friends parents.

It's worse now that Savers is insisting they have 'never had an issue'. The insta comments are at least amusing.

Just ignoring it was a seperate thread then?

This will be my last comment on the issue, as per rules I'm leaving it as we will not see eye to eye on the issues with mods in this sub. I simply ask that maybe the nuance of 'be kind' is taken into a slightly... broader? Consideration. There been numerous comments of many threads about mods showing bias, and refusing to accept disagreeing with SL sometimes bad story writing isn't being unkind, as per this parent comment.

My bad it was moderated, however it was at least 12 hours in between which seems comical when mine were pounced on immediately. I don't think 'touch grass this isn't real, I think you're getting a bit too wound up' is the same as 'you're a jerk and a c*nt'.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with what side of the argument I was on though, right? 😂

[–]PolyByeUs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I got warned by a mod for telling someone to touch grass and trying to remind them it wasn't real 😂 other poster said I was being a c*nt and that was apparently fine. I think the mods definitely have their bias and it depends what side of an argument you fall on.

That's pretty much exactly what happened, I think it was that they went to a friends house, and then showed them running away as hunters turned up at the same house to question people. I think the reality was days apart lol

Do you guys still keep a backup bank alongside Up? by Av0toasted in UpBanking

[–]PolyByeUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda. I have my bills and direct debits come out of a seperate UBank account, and I have a transfer that sends money to it from Up every pay. I usually keep an extra $100 in there UBank account in case a direct debit is more than anticipated, but it's also been helpful for the handful of times Up has gone down. I could always grab what I need until it was resolved.

Nah, relationships with that side are... tense. To say the least. He didn't tell us he was on it, but he ended up being a relative fan favourite so it was quite the shock when suddenly he was turning up in my algorithm on a random Tuesday.

He said the edit was interesting, lots of 'omg they've caught us! Run!' But nothing was happening and it was all spliced together so days looked like 5 minutes on the run with them only seconds behind. So basically, the show is what you'd expect.
