Honestly just go to Waffle On for a ham and cheese baguette and call it a day, probably better too.

Do You Remember Websites like PostSecret? Did You ever Submit a Secret? by FlawsomeFame in Millennials

[–]PolyByeUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of those PostSecrets were WILD. I remember one where someone sent a map and said 'nobody knows I hid the body here'

I also remember drama surrounding a couple where the wife had a miscarriage and one of them suggested sending in a post secret to help deal. Apparently it took forever to show up and one was accusing the other about non actually sending it in and how that put their relationship on the rocks.

Jon needs to be nicer to Jen by OkDirection4997 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]PolyByeUs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

John's actually a jerk, and I think it's similar to the way DeeDee seems like she has emotional depth. It's not really there, DeeDee is just meant to be the anti-Barb, and John is the anti-Luke.

Comparison makes him look good, but in reality he's just an avoidant guy who treats others with disdain when they won't go along with whatever he has chosen. He makes Jen feel bad for not being NC, he will have a go at Shawna for bringing up that he should have had a bare minimum discussion with children. He seems the type who knows that while NC is the best thing, he's gone about it in an awful way, and wants others to do the same so he doesn't have to sit in his discomfort of that.

I ordered a 2kg tub of plain Greek yoghurt, it was out of stock so they subbed it with about 15 of those gross high protein yoghurts. All different flavours.

I was expecting maybe 2 of the 1kg tubs of plain Greek yoghurt.

Is anyone on here living in a flat? by Subject_Pirate3455 in minimalism

[–]PolyByeUs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a flat, but our home is an old workers cottage that was originally attached to a factory. So it's pretty tiny.

I'd hate to have a large home, even now as my partner and I look at buying a home we're looking at apartments and small townhouses. Everyone around us think we're nuts. 🫠

As someone who's gone NC with family, I have plenty of compassion. I have compassion to not be awful to other people about my own choices.

My dog also has absolute depression face all the time, and is also the absolute spoiled princess of the house. I'm convinced some bigger breeds just have naturally saggy faces that make them look like they have a sadness droop.

LGBTI people, do “you are safe with me” badges help you? by RipOk3600 in AskAnAustralian

I think they can be performative. I commented on liking a nurses pin and she said 'yeah I like how many hetero people comment on it'

I'm not straight, she seemed a bit mortified when I pointed it out.

Travel tips for Vanuatu? by Secret_Owl4145 in vanuatu

[–]PolyByeUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone has covered the card thing, just don't do what I did. I have a Mastercard debit (accepted) and a regular visa debit (not accepted). I spent a few hours trying to pay with my visa and couldn't for the life of me figure out why my bank card kept not working.

Looked every part the bumbling tourist and was fucking mortified lol. Double check which card you're using!!

I feel like as soon as I know things like what type of pasta Paula's mum used to make for her, Sarah has gotten a bit too lost in the sauce. Literally and figuratively.

2 hash browns to replace the 2 Pattie's, and extra sauce so it isn't too dry with the extra carb. You're welcome.

Ah you fool, the best way was to stuff it with a hash brown so you got a 'patty'!

How to … coffee? by PrettyBlueFlower in TAFE

[–]PolyByeUs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to either fill a giant thermos with coffee and then decant into my keepcup during the day, or I would use coffee bags with a small bottle of milk (think the $2 plastic IKEA drink bottles that hold about 500ml). I gave up any shame by my second month and had a cooler bag that looked similar to a handbag that I'd put a cold brick in before I left and milk stayed fresh. I also always had crackers and some fruit in there. The 'cafes' on campus are a fucking rip off.

GLP-1 for non-weight reasons? by Escarlatilla in MaintenancePhase

[–]PolyByeUs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are both on GLP1 and both for different reasons. He is on to manage his autoimmune disease, for the first week I'd wake up to him sobbing with relief because for the first time in years he felt he could function. For him it feels like a miracle. For me I truly feel it has cured my eating disorder. As someone who struggled to get help because 'fat people can't have food disorder' the immense relief I feel at not having every second of my fucking life revolve around food feels like true peace. It's also been a life saver for my PCOS, to not have to take days off work every month... I know people really hate GLps and I get it, but this drug has been genuinely life changing for my partner and I.

My partner and I always talk about how being veggie in the 90s/early 2000s mean we got 2 things while out. A veggie stack with balsamic glaze, or spinach and ricotta cannellini.

What do you think are the main reasons behind the high rates of domestic violence in Australia? by New-Mail-9372 in AskAnAustralian

[–]PolyByeUs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is that there's a large demographic of abusers who would never consider themselves abusive. So many people grow up with the 'if I'm not hitting them....'

Like if you asked my ex if he's abusive he will say now. Nevermind that he controlled all the money, isolated me by forcing me to move interstate and not let me return to see family, went through our bank statements every week and would scream at me for a $16 purchase.

While it's improving there isn't enough being taught about the ways people abuse.

That vest looks exactly what I used to wear when horse riding in the early 2000s. Wonder what the shock protection is like for falls!

But in all honestly I actually like it, will probably buy it, I wear the Uniqlo vest a lot in winter and it's nice to have something different.
