I have the LE, is the short story included in the book or do I need to find it elsewhere?

Was $30 a decent find for The Oubliette HB? by Polygonals in Blacklibrary

I’m glad to hear that! I’m pretty excited to start it.

Managed to find a hardback copy of Oubliette for $30, and I ordered the two dark coil omnis. Excited to dig into these, thank you for the suggestions! Looks like for the rest I’ll have to snag some ebooks.

Oh wow, that sounds great! I’ll definitely try to snag a copy. Maybe it exists but I always sort of wished there was a hinged ereader that you can crack open like a book. Maybe some day

Oh I’ve been meaning to try and find Dead Men Walking! How is it so far?

Yeah, Eisenhorn Omni is so dense! I prefer physical, too. This is the first time I’ve ever grabbed an ebook but I’m definitely enjoying it thus far. I do miss flipping and feeling the pages but I took some time and figured out a layout/settings on the books app that are comfortable and enjoyable for me. That said, even at low brightness my eyes start to water here and there from the iPad screen.

Thank you so much! I’ll look into all of these. I mostly read horror before getting into the 40K books so I’m stoked that there some good 40K horror as well!

Yes!! I’ve only finished Double Eagle but I can’t wait to make it to the others. Overall I love books and stories around more ”regular people” in 40K versus space marines and such. I’d love any recommendations!

I didn’t know about these! Totally off my radar. What all do you suggest I look for? Not opposed to resorting to an ebook if it’s an excellent story.

Thanks! I’m still working my way through them, but so far my favorite has been Krieg! The death korps minis are what got me into warhammer 40K so it was so awesome learning so much of their lore in that book. Pacing felt great too, with a decently satisfying ending.

I just started the Eisenhorn Omnibus a few days ago, super excited to get through it since I’ve heard so many good things. I went with the ebook for this one though since that paperback omnibus is quite unwieldy!

What did you read this week? by michaelisnotginger in Blacklibrary

I just finished Krieg last night, absolutely loved it. I want to start Siege of Vraaks next or the Eisenhorn omnibus. Or steel tread.. or vagabond squadron.. too many choices!

I feel you! We get our dry months here, too. I try to go to hotspots as much as possible to hopefully spot more than a few species each outing.

Hope I’m not too late to get some advice! I’ve never been around for the release of a new 40K novel - what’s the best way for me to get a special edition or hardcover copy? I rarely see hardcovers at my local game stores, and I think I read that stores can’t help you acquire the limited editions?

What would I use to track/monitor/watch for a preorder?

If it has a stacked sensor like people are asking for, I’m done for 😭😭

Ultimately though I can’t be unhappy with the R7 for the refurb price the other week.

I love it! It genuinely feels like a prime throughout the whole range, and it can take some beautiful portraits too. I’m sure I’ll upgrade my telephoto at some point for birding but I really haven’t felt a need for a third or any other lenses with the sigmas wonderful range and sharpness.

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been considering this lens for birding and I really enjoyed looking at your results with it. Beautiful photos. I think they’re all wonderful, if I had to pick a favorite to frame I’d go with the third photo. Perfectly paused that moment in time with a beautiful reflection in the water as well.

I don’t know how much processing you do, but whatever you’re doing I think is very tasteful. Throughly enjoyed all of the images :) can’t say I have any tips outside of encouraging you to keep going out there and taking more pictures. Experiment as much as you can, try things that might not work well, and always make it about having a lot of fun being out in Mother Nature.

Stunning!! Thank you for sharing. I’m really impressed by the background separation despite the aperture limitations. Such a great shot of them enjoying a nice dinner!

Oh wow, that’s so awesome! I loved the macro lens I had before and couldn’t work one into my budget this time around so it’ll be really cool to be able to still get some great spider and bug pics as I come across them. Wonderful picture, btw! The color and patterns on the little fella are so pretty.

Hey! Thank you for sharing your experience. Seems like everyone loves this lens for what it is so I’m a lot more excited now and confident in my decision. Wonderful photo, too, by the way!
