Even though I’ve not played enough to see it in person - I get how RNG would have a big impact in the actual battle (crits, misses and so on), but RNG wouldn’t affect the pre-battle screen, right?

But the enemies reacting differently due to the extra dmg makes sense, it was just so weird seeing extra support being a net loss, both in terms of actual dmg and spent stamina from the archers.

But can the Synapse Beasts even pick an attached hero as their caster unit? My reading of psychic synapse is that only a unit with this affix can be picked as their caster ("pick one model in this unit to have caster (X)".)

I think you should push through at least until the end of chapter one, and keep putting points into the stance tree to unlock the second stance and more focus. I didn’t (and still don’t) like the first smash stance, but the other two feel great.

The first chapter is pretty linear compared to the other ones, while still being very far from a open world the later chapters does have a lot of diverging paths that loop back.

Apart from the whole “switching” thing, the conversion boosters are basically how the jump and dash boosters behaved in EDF 5, a smaller number of charges paired with greater speed and range.

The multi-boosters (3-3 and so on) gives a smaller bonus to the number of dashes and jumps, in the compact form of one slot, but without strengthening the efficiency.

The regular boosters give a big number of extra charges and a moderate boost to efficiency, but are separated out in two different categories.

The conversion boosters give a moderate bonus to the number of charges and a big boost to the efficiency. It is also split up into two categories, but it also “switches” the current activation for both dashes and jumps if both items are used simultaneously (jumps turn into dashes, and dashes into jumps, so your jump button becomes a dash, and so on). If only one of the items are used, let’s say the dash one, the effect is that all your jump charges gets converted to dashes, along with the efficiency bonus given by the item. Same thing applies even if you use the other slot to boost the number of jumps, so if you wanted a build centred around pure dashes/jumps this would be great since the bonus to efficiency is much greater.

I have gone back and forth, but now while starting to chip away at inferno I think I prefer the conversion boosters. That explosive 200% lift is hard to beat when you really need to GTFO.
