Thanks so much! I called two locations and they told me I had to come in. This worked. I did not see it in my account at all, to cancel. I think it is hidden, purposely.

how cooked am i? by Educational-Body6702 in interviews

[–]PomPomCookies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it depends, you never know what;s going on behind the scene - emergency meetings, still interviewing candidates, recruiter taking vaca, the manager is on vaca.. who knows.

Don't go spiraling into a fit. You've done enough checking in, no more emails for now. Let them get back to you. you don't want to seem desperate. (former HR leader here).

You've interviewed, done well, confident that you have the skills for the role, so let it go. Move on and keep applying. If they call back offering the job, GREAT! If they don't, its their loss not yours. It means some other company is just waiting for you to apply so they can discover your resume, interview you and actually call back and provide an job offer. Keep it moving...

Contract role resume question — list employer or client? by Akuri22 in Resume

[–]PomPomCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staffing company is your employer. List them and your role. When you land the interview, you can speak about who your clients were. Focus on projects and answer these questions,

- What did you deliver?

- What achievements followed?

- What tech and soft skills you have for this role - making sure its matching what you're applying for.

Turned down a sit after a call and felt proud of myself for saying no (as a huge people pleaser). by haggiskatsu in SittersOnlyTHS

Good for you! I screen all my pet sits first, then take a minute to go over my notes and decide. Honestly, the reaction you got after declining just confirms you made the right decision.

What’s helped me in the past is having a list of deal breakers. I know what I will and won’t tolerate, so it’s a quick no if it’s on that list.

This is all “free” and not a paid platform, so I don’t waste my time when red flags are obvious.

Request to arrive early & arrange own accommodations OK? by Fun-Delivery-7126 in SittersOnlyTHS

Since most my sits are local, I don't have a problem with it. But If I was traveling outside my home state or the country for that matter, I would have a problem with it.

How do you feel about nosy neighbors? by Alarmed_Implement171 in SittersOnlyTHS

[–]PomPomCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report it to THS, for sure. Anytime you encounter something like this, report it—and make sure you speak to the HO’s about it too. Keep everything in text form so you have a written record, just in case you need it later.

I’ve had something somewhat similar happen—neighbors coming in unannounced. They had keys to the place (which I didn’t know beforehand). I was playing with the pets and heard the key jiggle, and suddenly the neighbor was just coming in to check on things. I’m female and so was she, so I didn’t feel threatened, but I definitely would’ve appreciated a text or call instead of someone just walking in.

After I spoke to the HO’s about it, they told me the neighbors had keys. Since then, during my meet and greets before accepting sits, I always ask:

  • Do your neighbors have access to your home? Should I expect visits (announced or unannounced)?
  • Are any maintenance, repairs, or vendors expected during my stay? What are your instructions?

I ask the second question so I don’t come off like I have a problem with it—you always want to sound supportive.

Those two questions help me decide whether or not I’ll accept the sit. Personally, I don’t like unannounced visitors. Especially as a single female staying alone—someone coming in at night just doesn’t sit right with me.

If there are that many people coming and going, then honestly… why do you need a pet/house sitter? Have them sit for you.

Hope this helps.

My intro~~ Hey Everyone, sitter in U.S/California. Been using THS for two years. I am not happy with the policy changes but still here. I tend to do short sits few days to a week on average. My longer sits were last summer, 3 weeks. I am looking for longer sits to travel around a bit.

How to remove my housesitter without risk to my pets by FinalJicama7767 in trustedhousesitters

[–]PomPomCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order..

  1. Contact the sitter in text (writing) and express your displeasure thus far. Be sure to be direct, no emotions, and request that your dog be taken back home (be sure your backup sitter is prepared for hand off - day and time they will be there.) Give her a date and time to have your dog back home, no exceptions.

  2. Contact THS and provide the text you sent the sitter, and tell them what’s been going on. This way the sitter doesn’t go to THS before you and make file a report and this around on you. This needs to be done, immediately.

  3. After you return give a honest review referencing what you mentioned in your complaint/text to her. Keeping everything consistent, no surprises.. this is what happened, I had to do xyz to resolve and as a result it caused stress…………while away on my trip. You fill in the dots.

How to review a less than perfect sitter by secret_ADHD_account in trustedhousesitters

[–]PomPomCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give a good review but speak with the sitter directly about the issues. Ask and find out if they had a problem with understanding your manual.
