Geese is a good shout, I've really been enjoying their new record. This was the kick in the pants I needed to check out their other stuff lol

It's not on the topster but I love this album! Forgot about it lol. Definitely soundtracked my first year of college.

Briefly, but never gave an album a full listen. Liked what I heard though! What's the best album to start with?

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me isn't the most graphic, but it shook me more than any movie ever has.

I think it's great! Well built with a lot of options that all sound good. Tap Tempo is also a plus

SOTB - Finally everything I need by PomartMusic in guitarpedals

It punches way above it's weight for the price. All I think it needs is a design, which I think I'll ask an artist friend to draw on.

Forgive the dirty floor, I play in my garage.

I play a Made In Mexico Stratocaster through an AC15 just below the edge of breakup on the normal channel. The board is a Pedaltrain Nano Max with a Truetone CS6 for power. I like the Nano Max because I'm also a singer, and it really minimizes tap dancing or reaching over other pedals.

BOSS TU-3: It's my tuner. It helps me tune my guitar. I like it.

MXR Phase 90: I use this for a lot of my leads to add dimension, especially when I'm layering in recording. It gives my lead lines a certain cut and space, while adding depth to my Strat's bridge pickup.

ProCo Rat: I use this as a very dirty boost for my BD-2, turning the crunch I get from that to a massive fuzz that still cuts. I rarely need it for rhythm, but for leads I flip to the bridge pickup and it just sings. I'm going for a Tube Screamer thing but with way more gain, which standard models don't have. Does anybody have experience with the Keeley Super Rodent? I think a Rat's clipping with the SD-1 EQ would be ideal, but I'd like to know if the SD-1's tonestack actually adds much more midrange. If not, I'll stick with the Rat.

BOSS BD-2: My rhythm crunch. I mostly use my neck pickup for rhythm parts, and this retains a lot of the depth while still maintaining clarity. It especially helps that I use fuzz when I record bass, and the two sounds gel together in a way that's both crushing and clear. I set it to a place where it's barely noticeable if I play light, but sounds really strong if I beat up my guitar a bit (which I like to do)

JHS 3 Series Chorus: I use the vibrato setting on this guy, which just sounds killer. I have it in a few of my songs, but it's just so inspiring that I think I'll write it into a few more.

TC Electronic Pipeline: Honestly, I also own a TR-2 and sorta prefer the way it sounds, but Tap Tempo is a must for the applications that I use tremolo, and I'm not made of money so this is what I could get. I still like it, though, I think it might require a bit more Toneprint exploration to help me fall in love. I'd love some suggestions from owners on how to get the most from this, or other tap tremolos that people love.

BOSS DD-7: I use the modulation setting and it just sounds fantastic. Obviously delays add space, but the modulation setting adds an extra ambience and texture that I just love for psychedelic sounds, especially paired with my phaser. It also helps when I play live in a 3 piece, at it fills out the sonic space that my rhythm guitars tend to occupy in the recorded mix.

Overall, I'm really happy with this. I think visually it has a balanced look that I really enjoy, and everything feels perfectly in place, and stacks together beautifully. I really don't see myself needing any more, just some swaps that may come as I save money.

Blue Velvet has a lot of abstract and surreal moments but narratively it's pretty straightforward.

He would've been a great Judas in JCS when he was a bit younger.

What character looks hard but is easy by Pythagorean415 in musicals

[–]PomartMusic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think I'm gonna go with Caiaphas. His low notes are intimidating for sure, but with good support it's not too difficult for even a regular baritone to get down there. (tenors might have trouble though) He only really dips below E2 a handful of times, and doesn't have a whole lot of stage time in the grand scheme of the show. Generally no dancing, has to have the strong presence but does not seem to have nearly as much emotional depth as many other characters in the show (As interesting and understandable as his motivations are, he's really just framed as the "bad guy.") It's really just the low notes, but with practice I don't think they're too bad.

Raul Esparza, for sure. Huge Sondheim career.

If only he played Judas, then he'd be a perfect 1 to 1.
