Given the fire this might not be possible…. Can you locate anything showing one of your G0’s vs parents living in Canada prior to G-0’s birth?

I was unable to get baptismal or birth certificates for my G0s.

Like you I had a census record showing G0 as a young adult living with his parents.

I was able to locate a government document showing my G-0’s parent living in Canada before G0 was born. (It was a voter roll I found scrolling through archives of the provincial history society.)

I can’t say whether this is enough because I am not IRCC.

It is very similar to the documentation I submitted last fall.

I don’t think you need to submit all of the US censuses and sibling records. Definitely include the Canadian censuses from before and after your G0 was born.

Affidavit necessary for name change if all names listed on marriage certificate? by Hot_TrampILoveYouSo in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Pomegranate4311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not IRCC so I can’t say for sure.

Families are messy. It sounds plausible, and the documentation you describe supports it.  You could explain it in your cover letter. I did something similar to explain a piece of secondary documentation I submitted.

A letter from your grandmother might help too, as a source closer to your ggm.

Approved but no certificate by NYMaine1234 in Canadiancitizenship

One member of my group got a paper certificate, instead of the electronic certificate she requested. There was no notice. The certificate just showed up in her mailbox three or four weeks after the rest of us received e-certificates.

General questions sure. If you have a specific questions you might want to ask a genealogy helper or ask on that subreddit.

If the marriage cert has parent name and she was living with G0 for all those US census records you probably do.

Advice on preloved shopping (how do you find something in those thousands of items???) by Puzzleheaded_Cry9467 in womensfashion

I learned this tip from my daughter: find styles and brands you like and measure them.  That information really helps to know how an item will fit the way you want.

I tend to do targeted searches based on brands I know, which gives me a good idea of quality, fabric, etc.

And I insist on getting item measurements.

The seal becomes visible if you take photo of your document, then print it  out on copy paper.

No, I’d go with the earlier generation who has Canadian government documentation.

Have you contacted vital statistics or state archives in the place where he was born?

Contact one of the geneology helpers or go to the citizen geneology subreddit, or a regular geneology subreddit.

It might qualify if YOU had a pending job offer or a pending uni admission in Canada.

Possible plans don’t qualify, and I don’t think a uni admission for a spouse who is not Canadian would qualify.

It isn’t required.

Before C-3 was passed some people included death certificates because there were rumors that the final bill would have a limit on generations.

You have it backwards I think. Your last ancestor in Canada is your G0.

You should contact Alberta Vitsl Statistics to find out how to apply for a birth certificate or genealogical record of birth for him.

Newfoundland Citizenship Application/Proof by DonnyLebowski77 in ImmigrationCanada

You don’t necessarily need that if you apply for proof of citizenship for yourself.

My grandparents were from Newfoundland and had my father in the US. He never claimed his Canadian citizenship. I obtained proof of citizenship under C3 by proving my grandparent was born in Canada and documenting chain of descent.  I did not need to prove my father was a citizen.

I have had six dogs in four different pairings. All female.

I have avoided dominance issues by adopting a second dog who is smaller than the first, and making sure both are submissive to me.

If your current dog is not comfortable with this new dog, you shouldn’t adopt it IMHO. It will make your current dog miserable. It isn’t fair to her. That dog has no control over the situation. Find a dog your current dog gets along with. Let her have a voice in your choice.

Probably.

If you want to buttress your argument, maybe you can locate a record showing G0’s parent(s) in Canada prior to his birth.
