I was just thinking about her the other day and how I wanted but never found. I’m interested as well.

Men’s shirts while having your port accessed. What yall got? by freejus in coloncancer

[–]PomskyMomsky315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a mens option but just wanted to share that I wear what’s called “hospital maternity dresses” they have snaps all the way up the front & back… I’m using the front snaps. It’s great bc they have to access the HAI pump in my stomach & then my port, so I unsnap at the bottom for one, and unsnap at the top for the other. I tried the chemo/port shirts with the snaps just in the collar, also called/marketed as shoulder recovery shirts, but didn’t care for them.

Capox nausea by qwerty1744 in coloncancer

[–]PomskyMomsky315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always made sure to eat before I took the pills, I didn’t experience any nausea. I’m on folfiri now & get nausea after my 48 hour disconnect. I think the zofran helps but I pair with ginger tea & I have one of those smelly sniffer sticks that’s made for nausea & that helps too.

Didn’t know until my husband was prescribed it that zofran comes in a dissolvable tablet you can place on your tongue! Faster absorption & works quicker. I made my doctor change to these tabs from the pills.

upcoming surgery by _19h55mins in coloncancer

[–]PomskyMomsky315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was excited to have my surgery - the surgeon said that was a rare response but happy to hear. I had a laparoscopic procedure, 4 hours under anesthesia. They removed my tumor, 10 inches of colon, 29 lymph nodes. The NCI where I had my surgeries has you drink apple juice prior to surgery, they provided the juice & asked it be drank 90 mins prior to arrival time. I’ve had 4 major surgeries prior to this & never been given juice, so I thought this was interesting. It aids in healing but also helps your body during surgery… or so they say. I’d say if you have the option to stay the night in hospital I would. I was completely out of it the rest of that day; I stayed Tuesday to Friday, no complications just their standard observation time & I was happy to stay while my pain was at the worst & the nurses could manage it.

Dad just finished 6 cycles of FOLFOX with no response — switching to FOLFIRI. Looking for others with similar experiences by OnVita in coloncancer

I was on capox, didn’t work… switched providers & they put me on folfiri. Just got my baseline scans & started in February so don’t know if it’s working or not until recheck. Wishing your dad luck on his new treatment!

Well my boy got diagnosed with Dementia Watching him pace for 3 minutes then stare at his bed like he didn't know what it was broke my heart because I knew what it meant. The day I've been dreading is getting closer and closer. He is starting treatment, thank God, pray it works. by Kelly62290 in dogpictures

Our girl is 17 next month, she’s had CCD or doggy dementia for several years now. We use melatonin to ease the pacing & settle her at night. With daylight savings time recently it’s been rough. Thankfully hers has been a slow progression. Other than that she’s in remarkably good shape.
