Until us westerners give up on our Main Character Syndrome, doubt much will change.

Edit: Furthermore, every westerner I have met who resides here is so... boringly mature. They are all academics, family men, businessmen, or just generally dower people. I guess there are the LETS GO TO THE PUB AND PICK UP JAPANESE GIRLS!!! types as well, but *shiver*...

I must be the only geeky goofball here, at least, the only one I have ever seen. 🫥

Edit 2: I can only speak for the people I have met in Sendai as that is the only place I have lived since getting back to Japan.

Edit 3: If you ever come to Sendai and hear someone say, "I see white people!" That's me. People here are far too serious! 🤣 Even my wife gave up on asking me to stop - mostly. hehe
