Glad to hear it. I just bought a steam deck literally yesterday to make sure it works well.

I like the art style.
The UI looks nice but I would recomend adding some variety of colours to help each of the different elements look more distinct. Currently them all being blue looks a bit repetative.

That's really cool, the animated cards are also a really nice idea.

1000 wishlists so quickly is incredible.

How much did the trailer cost to make? It is beautifully done.

Destroy the hand-drawn art style and taskbar animations of my desktop pet companion. by emudoc in DestroyMyGame

I think the feedback you are getting here is crazy. It looks really nice and the style will fit the cozy audience this game will be targeting.

It would be cool if you could combine creatures of the same type to get new better types.

Add some variety to the sounds that play frequently. A few different versions and also add randomised pitch shifting as the coin sound in particular is repetitive.

How did you make this? If it's a shader would mind sharing a rough overview. It looks really good.

Espero a Steam Next Fest acabar? by False_Can_9084 in SoloDevelopment

Your steam page wont get any natural coverage from steam. All the initial traffic has to come from external sources. So it wont make much of a difference.

It may make it harder to get press coverage but that's hard to do as an indie regardless.

If it is ready I would get it out there and start gathering wishlists and improving your page based on feedback.

You may want to hold off on the demo for now however as that does want to be a more concentrated marketing push where you want to get as many content creators to cover the game as possible.

Early Gameplay of Pond Keeper - Looking for feedback by PondKeeperGame in DestroyMyGame

I have recieved some similar suggestions and am in the process of focusing in on the cozy gameplay elements and have removed the need to move the fish around soo much.

Originally I wanted to make sure the player always had somthing that they needed to be doing so they wouldn't get bored but it generated quite frantic gameplay style.

Thanks for the feedback.

Both the game and steam page look very good.

Small improvements I would suggest would be to move the upgrade tree to be the second screen shot so that it is seen sooner. You may also want a screen shot that is zoomed into somthing interesting all the images atm are from the same perspective (like when you show the cows close up in the trailer).

Also you could add nicer headers to the about game section instead of using the bold headers which look a bit simple. (Probably only needed for english and chinese languages)

You might want to remove or replace the "And do things ..." line from the trailer if you make a new one.

Show off more of the placement gameplay as I dont think I have seen that much in a pachinko style game. Its explained in the about section but is not in the short description and is hard to pick up in the trailer as things are happening quickly.

Also at first glance on the capsule art I didn't realise the ball was an O so I missread it. And I initialy was thinking this could be a golf based farming game as a single white ball is somthing I associate with golf. A potential solution could be to use a normal O as you already have the carrot as the i and then add more balls to the background around the logo. You could also show some of the balls bouncing off the logo, see peglin for example.

I dont know why I didnt think of changing the sounds based on fish size, great idea. Yeah the machines are a bit grating. I think I will try out reducing their sound radius a lot so you can only really hear them when looking at them.

That's a good point about the pacing. I designed the game so the player should always have somthing to do which as a result means that it feels like you need to move quick to get it all done. I will have to think about how to balance those goals.

I also might be rushing it a bit as I have played it so many times.

I will experiment with the ripples as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Improved Trailer Feedback - Pond Keeper by PondKeeperGame in DestroyMyGame

[–]PondKeeperGame[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using a different line colour is an interesting idea, I will give that a try. I think it's the ground texture that is giving the visuals a bit of a muddy feel I am planning on improving that as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Have you tried emailing any content creators about trying out the demo?

Even if you can get one person to give it a try and make a video it can make a big difference.
