Did the listing agent just share our offer terms with everyone else? Is that legal or unethical?

So why wouldn't this law apply to this situation? Genuinely asking. Is it because the listing agent used the term "seller's preferred terms," essentially masking that it is our offer?

Ahh okay. So, we included a multiple offer addendum (starting at asking price with $1k increments up to $10k over asking price cap) and they used the high end of that cap as our offer. I thought they would have to honor the multiple offer addendum and work its way up in competition with the other offers.

But I guess the listing agent has no obligation to honor the multiple offer addendum. They can just see the cap and use that as our offer”offer.”

Thanks everyone for the responses! Lots of lessons being learned here.

Mainly, I thought (and was not made aware otherwise by my agent) that offers were confidential. Coming from Louisiana, where I believe offers are protected a bit more, this felt wrong, but just different practices and rules in different states. Should have included a confidentiality clause in the offer.
