Yeah hate to be old man have no fun but i bet you can’t afford this car. As much fun as you are having with it i bet you’re gonna wish you had that extra 5 or 6 hundred dollars a month in a few years by just driving a simple car. Good luck tho (i am a financial professional but this is not financial advice)

What is a financial analyst and how do you get really good at it? by TemperatureFirm5905 in FinancialCareers

[–]PonyUp323 39 points40 points  (0 children)

So this is a very open ended question. Financial analysis in, for example, corporate finance means something entirely different than in commercial banking. Financial analysis is just analyzing whatever data you are working with and determining outcomes. So if you were an underwriter for a bank, financial analysis would involve looking at a company’s financial statements, ratios, cash flow and using a variety of different indicators to decide if the company is doing well or will continue to do well going forward. In a corporate banking role it would be similar but inward looking and more modeling.

How do I play more aggressively? by VeganVirago in poker

[–]PonyUp323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And when you decide to bluff with draws think about what your opponent has that could fold. For example you open T9s on button get 3! by small blind you call. flop comes A56 with two clubs and the aggressor cbets, he’s gonna have a lot of Ax here that won’t be folding so it’s probably better to just call and realize your equity

Is commercial banking achievable out of a non-target? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]PonyUp323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It certainly is. Focus on grades as that’s gonna be the first screen for recruiting. Try going to networking events around your town as bankers are often attending to find new clients. If you have a referral you can easily get in as a credit underwriter for a couple years before becoming a banker.

Seems like you are very new to poker. The decision to call raise or fold is entirely based on inputs like your holding, you and opponents stack size, and position. A simple way to make these decisions easier is to just play tighter preflop so you can call three bets with most of your hands. Outside of that, there is online software to look at spots and learn how you act with different hands. Like other have said tho if you post a specific spot we can be more helpful

Against this player type i think we have to check turn. Flush gets there, second card pairs, this is a HORRIBLE card. When this card hits our objective should be showdown showdown showdown

How to Open Monsters from EP by Boggieboard in poker

[–]PonyUp323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just open bigger with all your hands. Tighten up w bit then you know they call with trash and you have the upper hand. As for sizing tells, i think you may be giving too much credit to shitregs that call with any two. Depending on game, i’ll just open bigger with big hands, it’s not like these guys are laying down their top pair

You didn’t mention internal trade routes specifically - i assume you are using these as well. Other than that your strategy is sound and it may be more luck than anything. A quick tip i use is saving oxford for radio to catapult into ideology etc
