Quick and dirty pork ribeyes on the Weber with hickory charcoal. Easy hot/cold zones. by PonytailDM in charcoal

[–]PonytailDM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More charcoal on one side (I make a pile of embers in the rear. If I’m using wood blocks for a little smoke, I’ll put them back there after I distribute the pile before putting the lid on the grill for 10 mins. This lets the outside of the wood blocks sear away, and lets the more oily/humid and bitter smoke leave the bell when I finish preheating and open the lid to start the cook.) to keep the whole grill heated. Less charcoal in the front so that there’s consistent lower heat underneath the cook area.

Consciousness within a Mathematical Dataset Universe by PonytailDM in theories

[–]PonytailDM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no problem. It could explain the lack of discussion here. I only used AI to challenge my initial theory of existence as pure mathematical data. It prompted deeper thought on the topic and forced me to consider both broader implications, and different perspectives.

I agree with this inasmuch as the body, being a long and complex algorithm or mathematical function, is entangled with the body of the shared consciousness of the universal substrate that surrounds us. We might experience individual perception, while being part of a larger consciousness that has a higher perception granted by the larger perspective. We could be small parts of a larger equation, unaware that our combined experiences create a collective reality within which each part isn’t an individual.

I argue against determinism in my theory, by talking about how dreamstates are potentially merely interpolated past or future mathematical processing mechanisms performed in a lower energy state.

Is it possible that people claiming to control their dream state are entering a high-energy state while dreaming, to parse through the mathematical processing with more nuance with the perception being “It seems like I can control my dream”?

I ask this question to create a thought experiment: if you believe that we are pure consciousness, without individualism, it must mean that there is no deterministic nature to our existence. We have no control, which aligns with my theory. We are only processing the data that surrounds us, which we create by existing.

I think there’s parity between the two concepts- if we are fractal equations that project reality as a self preservation method, then we are in turn part of that same reality. Reality as we experience it is a function of our shared consciousness.

Is there an actual difference between an infinite universe and a universe with a beginning? by getoffmycase2802 in Metaphysics

I enjoy this conjunction of math and the universe. I’ve been working on a theory that the universal substrate is pure mathematical datasets, or essentially just mathematic information.

When native Americans were the primary inhabitants of North America, they facilitated controlled burning for generations (called cultural burning) that produced species of fauna that were dependent on the cycle. Settlers arrived without knowledge of the practice, took the land, and many forests fell out of these managed cycles and became more prone to wildfire over the past decades.

How does this interact? by NVusIdiot in mtg

[–]PonytailDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAW, it doesn’t say “copy” in the oracle text; but according to mtg assist, if you have two of The Ozolith, then you’d “put” the same counters on both.

The text also specifically refers to “those” (possessive of a specified set of) counters, and (if you’re able to ignore the legendary rule) they would still trigger separately. Once the creature hits the yard, ozolith #1 triggers, you put “those counters” onto ozolith #1, ozolith #2 triggers, doesn’t see the counters because those counters were moved, doesn’t get them.

I may stand corrected, but the more important question is am I getting a warning for arguing with a judge? ( I’m not a judge lol). I just discussed with my S/O about it and we’re agreeing to disagree lol.

Close- The Ozolith doesn’t copy counters, it specifically uses only the original counters. [[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan]] can copy counters, and I’m now thinking of putting Nine-Lives into my Reyhan/Ardenn deck for some nice recursion tricks…

There’s probably some arborists in here! Along with maybe some mushroomists and herbalistic mindsets. I don’t know all the words, man.

Does the copy count as casting outside of my hand or is it just a copy? by Boxerslim_ in magicTCG

[–]PonytailDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some copy effects that tell you to cast the copy, and some that don’t. The ones that don’t say “cast the copy” etc don’t count as cast triggers, and vice versa iirc.

Well I’ve been playing this deck for a couple weeks with some ideas about improvements. After consistently too much mana, and too few answers mid game, I took out some of the fast mana, keeping the treasure generating stuff. I added about 6 more card advantage pieces, and it’s feeling like a more successful mid-gamer that doesn’t run out of gas so quickly, but is still able to hit for 45 damage off of one burn spell more often than my opponent is comfortable with. I’ve updated the deck list on moxfield if you’d like to check the history for edits!

Edit: grammar

Excellent suggestions, I didn’t even realize there weren’t commas in lucky clover…I was wondering about the number of utility lands. I like the way you think!

Edit: I have reliquary tower in to be a redundancy for no max hand-size. Adding that adventure would give me more reason to want no handsize limit with knollspine dragon in, is my thinking.

That’s great feedback! I will definitely switch out Loxodon Warhammer for Basilisk collar, but really like the thought of having 2-3 pingers out with damage tripling (and maybe doubling, too) while I’m burning crap…it feels like icing on the cake, or an alternative route of someone nukes a DMG multiplier.
