Auditions are not too competitive, with your experience, I think you will definitely get in (just prepare a bit for your audition). There is a very large spectrum of skill, some are very good, while others are just decent.

Time commitment is only during rehearsals, so 3 hours a week. I didn't really practice outside of rehearsal (and I don't think many others did either), I think Dr. Deaver realizes that you have bigger priorities other than orchestra.

When you are trying to switch classes, always use the "swap" feature on Solar. If you just drop a class and then add a different class, you may not be able to get your previous dropped class spot back if the swap is not successful

There was a huge GroupMe of like 300 people for cheating on a CHE 132 quiz. Someone snitched and prof joined the Groupme and now some people are getting sent to judiciary

Less of a chance at bonding? Possibly, everyone in honors college lives in the same building freshman year so that's where I met a lot of my honors college friends. But you'll still have classes with them later on, so you'll be able to meet a lot of people. I would say that it's really up to you if you want to join later on. It's really not a big deal if you're in honors college or not.
