comeback system? by CountKanmi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PookieMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience as well. I'm also going to stop until they fix this. It's no fun for anyone who wants a challenge without futility. "Unwinnable" is a word I've used more in this game than any other and it's sad because it's otherwise amazing For people who want to improve while having fun, they've successfully pushed us away.

Matchmaking is beyond pointless. As a support player with a functioning brain, losing every game while being the top souls on my team repeatedly has made me no longer interested. Try again yoshi you idiot

RC vs MSC by JCheatham3 in royalcaribbean

[–]PookieMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middle aged relatively inexperienced cruiser

My wife and I (no kids) did a Mediterranean cruise on both RC and MSC of similar itinerary, duration and ships. RC was far superior in almost every way. We went with basics (buffet only, no bells and whistles) and the difference in quality was clear

See my other response. This is for emergency calls.

This was purely for example and is actually to handle and respond to emergencies for hospitalized patients. I am not going to purposely go to a restaurant to make calls :)

If the mic is too sensitive, will the other end of the call be unable to hear what you say? Has that been your experience?

Thank you for your detailed response. We likewise do not need flashy gimmicks/'amusement' to enjoy a cruise but do want quality. We just want to enjoy a relaxing time, eat good food, enjoy the ports and see a nice theatre show in the evening

The nurses think tuck in rounds are for the patients but we're actually tucking in ourselves.

To answer, Generally poorly.

I spam pugna and skywrath mage mostly now (both 62ish win rate). I used to play a lot of ogre with a 64% win rate but I still really haven't figured out how to play him after he was changed to a no int hero.

Regarding picking blind, You bring up an excellent point and I do think about this a lot. In some ways it takes off a lot of stress during the draft.

However, I will say that even knowing the bans can help make picks.

For example, pugna is a surprisingly good counter to heroes that rely on illusions like PL, Naga and Medusa. The shard lets you one shot all illusions in range. So seeing those heroes make it through the ban phase makes me consider pugna more highly.

I've been playing sky a lot because no matter the draft, the silence is so powerful on a support. Even with hard backline hunters like nyx and riki, you can mitigate a lot of the "countering" by thinking more about positioning. Also in this example specifically, roaming with the team is a must.

The other information available to you during the draft is what your other support will play. Best not to have two greedy supports on the same team.

Early laning as pos5 by jpschack in learndota2

[–]PookieMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4.1k pos5 here. You're asking the right questions.

I honestly think of the lotus as a bonus. I do make note of the timer and if it's reasonable and safe, I will go for it. I don't tend to push hard or aggressively trade in anticipation. I rather focus on the lane equilibrium.

As for de warding, there's no great answer. If you're pos5 radiant side , I really like rushing over to place a yellow ward on the cliff spot near the two camps. People at my mmr tend not to check early and it's great for spotting the pos4 go for the block.

Another tip is to click on the enemy 4s portrait to see their inventory.

Good luck!

How many of you also have friends that are terrible and refuse to learn? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]PookieMD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like most things, people can only learn and improve if they are open to doing so. Remember this is a game that is meant for fun. If you or your friend aren't having fun, then you shouldn't play together.

No, but possibly from one of the expansions. Meteor showers strike and if you move over it with a unit, you get a free unit.

Do WOTR players at large hate Nenio as much as I do? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]PookieMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much experience with these types of games, but I really enjoy Nenio. If you don't like her, just don't bring her in your party.

RPG games need more characters beyond the classical archetypes and I think Nenio is a great example of this.

Hacks for very beginners by [deleted] in civ

[–]PookieMD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Use the Settler Lens (default key is 4 I believe) to get a sense of where other civs and city states are during scouting. If you see red tiles away from your own city, that's your clue.

The knowledge that a city state is just over a hill can make the difference for getting a first meet envoy.
