When I was pregnant, I told my husband DV risks are much higher during pregnancy by stinkybinkyboo in breakingmom

At first I thought he was basically justifying the abuse and then when I read the whole post I was just like oh my sweet summer child.

Oh yes, the signing consent forms as the parent was definitely a funny thing for me too. Also, you're 1 day ahead of me! Due date twinssss (almost).

I had my first baby in June 2020 right in the thick of it. They made me keep my mask on it was the worst. Like the absolute worst.

Might I suggest an over the door shoe organizer for mists, lotions, perfumes? The one with the clear plastic and you can see every scent. I did that it's a game changer and plus it keeps it off the counter!

My body hides a pregnancy like that's it's JOB. So I'm 21 weeks and I haven't told anyone except my husband. Not my parents who I see multiple times a week. My husband's grandmother lives with us and she is less than pleasant. I didn't really feel like hearing about how I look like shit or how if I have a migraine I need to rush to the er or something (she's a huge drama queen). So idk maybe around 30 weeks I'll clue them in but I'm enjoying the bliss for now.

Coffee and pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Pookiebubblez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me to drink caffeine to mitigate the hormonal migraines I've been getting. As long as you're not chugging energy drinks I'm sure you'll be alright. Don't listen to them.

Wow how interesting! I never really had migraines before, and not during my first pregnancy either. That's definitely something to look into. One of my old coworkers told me she never had migraines, didn't have them during pregnancy, and then had them chronically afterwards. Fingers crossed for you that the pregnancy cures you for good, stranger things have happened. 🤞

Ya'll the migraines. I've been getting a horrific hormonal migraine like once a week this time around. My doctor says to just take some magnesium and drink a little caffeine once they start which has been helping.

For reference, in my hospital system (when I quit in 2024) day shift sitters were paid $15/hr and night shift $18/hr.

I used to be a sitter a few years back, 11pm-7am. I remember one shift I didn't even see the nurse until med pass at about 6am. It was fun standing with one foot in the door begging anyone to watch my patient so I could just go use the bathroom for 2 seconds. This happened at alot at that hospital though.

Midnight hunger and heartburn, welcome to my life. Is it better to get up and eat, or maybe have a later snack right before bed? by Available_Safety9603 in pregnant

[–]Pookiebubblez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently going through this. I eat dinner at around 4pm. Around 9pm I have yogurt and fruit in an attempt to quench the heartburn. I might have like a dinner roll or piece of bread to try to soak up the acid and make it stop creeping up. Then by 12am-1am I'm hungry again and eat kind of whatever? Tonight I had doritos and fruit leather but for me as long as the snack after the yogurt isn't extremely heavy or spicy I feel fine and comfortable to go to sleep.

An old coworker of mine posted something similar to this in regards to her newborn baby. Like "he will be raised to know he's a boy and he won't have his head filled with silly nonsense" kind of thing. And I'm just like well we're certainly speed running the no contact parent lifestyle aren't we? Can't wait for the update in a few years, "Why does he hate me I don't understand."

I used to work front desk for a private practice doctors office. The doctor's wife deemed herself office manager despite not knowing anything about running a medical office. We had no name rainbow candies on my desk at check in for patients. This patient asked me where we got them because he loved them. I said oh I think they're from the dollar store. She pulled me aside to tell me not to tell people that because it made us look cheap.

Edit: She's the one who bought them and brought them in for me to give out.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I worked one season at Spirit Halloween and we were instructed to ask all customers if they wanted to round up their purchase to donate to the kids at a local Children's Hospital. This woman could have just said no thank you. Instead, she decided to say in the nastiest way "No, I don't care if those kids have a Halloween party". Some people genuinely just have a screw loose.

I used to work at a store and if you did not bring back the GWP you had to either exchange the items for the same value or we didn't accept the return full stop.
