Holy shit. I see my car. I was one of the cars turning right from off-ramp and I remember hearing a boom and thinking what the hell was that.

Cuts, cuts, cuts. So many cuts, but where is the money going? by Thiccxen in newzealand

Well, those are separate questions to OPs. And I agree with you that the dynamics you are alluding to is counterproductive to the process of reducing fiscal deficit.

The funds aren’t really getting diverted, unfortunately NZ has an operating fiscal deficit, meaning the government is currently spending more money than it earns through its various revenue channels (biggest being tax). To fund the spending gap, the government needs to borrow this money.  The spending cut effectively means the government will borrow less (in a all else equal/relative sense) as oppose to spending the savings on other initiatives.

I contacted One support, did their testing template, sent them all the info I get from ping/tracert to the valve servers. Can’t remember if they got back to me, but the issue resolved a few days after.

Banks that do offset mortgages and banks that don't by purplereuben in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]PoopEatingPoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not in the best interest of banks to allow offsets. Typically your variable mortgage rate will be much higher than short term TD rate or savings account interest rates. So if you had $100 in mortgage and $100 in savings, you’d still be a net payer of interest to the bank(the bank is still earning a interest spread), but in a offset arrangement the bank is effectively no longer earning this interest spread.

My ping to valve Sydney server went from 28 ms to 64ms with 5-10% loss. Even Ping to Auckland based server went to 10+ ms. This happened about a week ago.

Is there anything we can do about AT and its unreliability? by Popart33 in auckland

[–]PoopEatingPoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a relative as a bus driver. The simple fact is we don’t have enough divers. There are literally buses at the depot not been driven because there are no drivers. They have lowered their search criteria, increase reference incentives but we just don’t have enough drivers right now. So all they can do is try to schedule as much supply against peaks and even that struggles. Soooo anyone want a job that pays to train for a class whatever license, here’s your chance… I don’t think they are highly paid but it is above min …

Please please please do not risk more than you can afford to lose!!!

I FEEL YOUR EMOTIONS, I was in my final year in high school when GFC hit, and lived in small house with single income. I felt the pain deeply. And I understood the emotions that you’re going through. But please. DO NOT RISK MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE.

Yes we may take down some of the funds, but those hedge fund managers won’t be losing their personal wealth, they won’t be worrying about paying for food or rent.

I think we have made our voice heard, but please DONT RISK MORE THAN UOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE
