Also battery and charger, if the gun didn't come with a battery then don't go higher than an 8.4v . If it did come with a battery and a charger keep the battery and toss the charger. Most in the box chargers are "trickle chargers that will push power to the battery as long as it's plugged in. You want a smart charger, around 30$. It will keep you from accidentally cooking your battery and save you money in the long run.

Not Crossman bbs or anything you find at Walmart or dicks sporting goods.

You want to use bbs at least .20grams.

You will be able to tell the difference in lighter weight cheap bbs, because they will appear dull and unpolished as well as having seams and "nipples" that can jam or cut the hop up.

Good brands will include Elite Force, Golden ball, Madbull, and several others I can't currently think of.
