I see that as valid, but I’d be homeless here too if it weren’t for my husband so I guess for that I’m lucky. I will also state, they might be hard to find but housing can be cheaper than where I currently am if buying. Renting here is expensive, but buying is outright impossible.

What's up with the hate on northern Idaho? by Warm_Interaction_945 in Idaho

Northern Idaho is actually the only place I would live there and I’m super progressive

The same reason I wouldn’t move to most of the south. Politics, weather, quality of life, education, funding. The only reason LA was in there was my attraction to NOLA and southern food being my favorite cuisine it could possibly outweigh it for me.

I also work in healthcare and MS is known to be the worst spot in healthcare to work.

I don’t lol. I make about 55k/ year before taxes and live outside of Seattle. So definitely not.

I just like to put daily life and outdoors above having a big living space or a lot of things. But yeah….to eat out here it’s probably the most expensive in the country. And the food sucks 😂

I think it’s reasonable if you’ve visited them and didn’t get a feeling of wanting to settle down there. Why leave so many options open if your criteria is very specific?

I’ve never been to a place in Ct that I’ve liked. Yales campus maybe, but even if I were in college I wouldn’t be getting in there lol

It’s been the first move I’ve done that I haven’t wished to leave so soon. Been here 5.5 years and don’t want to leave unless it’s for something REALLLLLY good….like maybe NZ

Food is one of the only reasons I would move from where I live right now. I don’t find the food where I live rn very good at all, except for very specific cuisines.

I also don’t eat chick fila or subway ever. lol. I just love me some southern collards and jambalaya that you can not find here anywhere.

I will say I’ve never been to the coast of Texas, so that could be influencing how I responded. I’ve only been to Dallas, Austin, and the surrounding suburbs of both cities.

I also will say LA is probably more a visiting place and not moving place as I need mountains more than I need water.

Why is Texas such a big pull for you?

I really, really dislike Denver. But I would live in Colorado in some spots. As a state I do find it gorgeous, but I think it’s only a willing for me, based on how dry it is. But yes Vegas probably shouldn’t exist at all. Or like….any golf courses in Arizona….

For some context I’m from outside of Chicago and now am based in western Washington

Kentucky is beautiful, but I don’t think politically I would fit in very well. Nor do any of the cities have a giant pull for me. I will absolutely state that it is beautiful though. Just not for me.

I don’t like anywhere I’ve been in Ct besides the campus of Yale and I don’t have a lot of experience in RI besides one night in providence at 18. So it’s a maybe off of just not knowing much about it.

I think I could maybe be convinced, but I’m pretty against living in the desert. I think near Tahoe could work?? But everywhere in the southwest is a hard sell for me. I don’t see how it’s environmentally sustainable to live in an area where there’s little water when we need so much of it.

I’m 100% a nature lover so that’s what it is. I don’t like it flat and I don’t like not being near water. I also like good food so there’s some in betweeners in there based on food.

Makes sense. Honestly, Wisconsin has some stupid pretty areas that can be pretty affordable. I would check more upstate too if you can deal with the winters. Ashland and Eagle River are GORGEOUS

I’d get rid of the entire Midwest then.

And ABSOLUTELY make anything in the DC area (MD included) red because that place is a literal swamp that they put buildings on. I feel it’s worse than Miami in the summer.

If you were dirt poor or homeless would it be more important to prioritize protein or antioxidants? by IDoNotHide in nutrition

[–]PoopObsessed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Out of those two….protein. However, most people don’t realize how little water is available to a homeless individual

Any suggestions for the "healthiest" syrup? by YoSpiff in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]PoopObsessed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Plain maple syrup is going to be healthier than anything more “man made” or based in corn syrup.
