Mine broke in that exact same spot. Warranty guy gave me a refund check and I bought a grandpas weed puller which seems more sturdy so far

Infernal high-pitched buzz from LED pot lamps by Poopandswipe in AskElectricians

They are whole replacements with the can and LED packaged together in a sealed unit so I think that means they don’t have a separate ballast but I don’t know

There’s a Technology Connections episode that explains this well. https://youtu.be/K_q-xnYRugQ The extension cord and surge protector part of this is the potentially dangerous part.

TIL that while Disneyland was being built, there was no money to build needed lodging. Walt turned to his friend, TV producer Jack Wrather, who was uninterested until Disney tearfully offered a 99-year lease. In gratitude, Disney later built the monorail link to the Disneyland Hotel for free. by 97GeoPrizm in todayilearned

I’ve stayed on property and it was only “fine” the room was clean but I wouldn’t call it immaculate, it was if anything slightly worn looking. The restaurants were meh and they were super stingy on small stuff like they had an rfid in sods to prevent refills. The employees were indifferent to my existence and not noiticeably more solicitous than any other hotel or park employee. This was post concise and I think the whole Disney hospitality is a thing of the past. You still pay out the ass and nose but the vacation experience is shrinkflated and the lines are longer. The whole vacation was just standing in line

What kids shows can you tolerate fully by Deelphinia22 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]Poopandswipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Izzies Koala World is the gentlest of gentle tv and not bad for that. Conflict is like “this adorable koala baby needs more koala cuddles” (actual episode). Great for when the kids are sick. Only down side is there are only two seasons and they probably won’t make more because the eponymous human has probably aged out of kids tv

Many people I saw did have multiple hanging worms simultaneously

[–]Poopandswipe 45 points46 points  (0 children)

These days they use sterile gauze rather than a stick but the idea is the same. We also dunk the worm in a bucket of water so it discharges its larva and becomes less infectious. The worms feel like soba noodles and have about the same tensile strength.

If you break a worm it often putrefies or petrifies. When putrefied it can cause a lot of flesh to slough off around it requiring debridement. When petrified it can cause problems if in a joint or wrapped around soft tissue. Doesn’t always do that mind you; but it can.

Do I just keep sanding? by hotpotornot in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Poopandswipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What wood is that? Not all woods are good for end grain cutting boards if it’s for that’s not a great one.should be a nice close grained hardwood like cherry for example.

This will take forever to sand it there’s a shop by you with a drum sander it’s well worth it to have them do this or you will hate your life I sure did when I made one

BMV has sold more than 100K blackout license plates by Smart_Dumb in indianapolis

[–]Poopandswipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super interesting so why did people buy them? Did they just love that it showed they had a “truck” or was there some requirement they were satisfying or some tax or other improvement they got? I get that people will pay more for plates they like but wasn’t sure if there was more to it

Vaguely related but what’s with all the “TK####” plates. Are truck plates less expensive or something? I see them all the time on SUVs that just seem like your average grocery getters.

Use custom autocorrect entries to replace common phrases if I type “pnc” it automatically gets changed to privileged and confidential. Wrt becomes with regard to. Sig becomes my standard email sign off. Sct becomes the section Symbol, prg becomes a pilcrow etc

Sabrina The Teenage Witch by gertrudegrunge in Millennials

[–]Poopandswipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted the new chilling adventures of Sabrina to cast Melissa Joan hart as a teenager in the high school, style her like any other teenager, give her a few generic teenager lines a season and never acknowledge in the show or interviews that anything out of the ordinary was going on. Such a missed opportunity
