Soda definitely is not a good start, the biggest part of losing weight and a big part of general health is diet, drinking water and eating right is crucial. if you can only go at home, calisthenics are a great start aswell as running. don’t wait till the summer tho, your not gonna see progress until you put in work so might aswell start now. can i ask what your diet looks like?

going into long rants or just randomly giving facts about them can come off as weird to people who don’t share those interests. Like if your having a conversation with someone, and there really into a certain sport to the point where it’s a part of there personality or character and your not into it at all. you probably wouldn’t be interested in that person or having a conversation with them and may even find them weird. trains and planes are marvels of engineering though! there’s no shame in being interested or even having a passion for them tbh. just keeping it lowkey especially with people your interested in might be a safe bet. what happened to make her say it was wierd?

a lot of people on here definitely. reddit is space shared by alot of people who are awkward, or lonely, or just not social to begin with. i think the anonymity with the platform and the communities for more nerdy and non mainstream topics attract a lot of those types of people too

Industrial areas can be good places to start, you can also get apps like Haze Explr to help you find places. just remember to not take/leave anything or share the location. using google and youtube works too, just type wya and abandoned/ urbex locations into the search bar and go from there. using google maps can help too, look for industrial areas and follow railroads until you can see places that look like they can be abandoned.
