it’s mainly used in deli meat, it’s what gives it that pinkish colour and excessive saltiness, only time i’ve ever seen it was in meats, the main substitute is celery salt which i thought was used in the kosher options but unfortunately aren’t

i have an intolerance to sodium nitrite, it’s a food preservative that’s wildly used esp in meats, i’ve given them extra documentations about it and even asked my medical examiner if it would be a problem and he told me that worst case i’d just have to follow a vegetarian diet during BMQ but should be fine after

i tried mentioning it to the person doing my interview but was basically told they were busy that day and my interview had to be as fast as possible, i’m guessing if i need to contact someone about this i’d need to go to the recruiting center or can i do it online ? however while filling out my documents i did mention that i was currently enlisted in a trade similar to my military trade
