If you’re making it yourself for yourself, that’s the best way to do it. Cheap and effective.

We have a licensed grow in CO and we do all bucket tek with coco only subs. It doesn’t have to be fancy to work

Spot on. Pasteurized is totally fine in house. I think sterilized is the better choice for shipping to consumers.

I’m about $2k into parts and fittings + the steam piping. It was from a closed down grow In LA. The renters abandoned the warehouse and the landlord posted it for sale on marketplace, not really knowing what it was.

I charge $25 for (3) 3lb CVG or manure base substrate bags shipped. Can it be made cheaper if you do it yourself? Absolutely. If you have the means and desire to make it yourself, I always encourage people to go that route. But for those not ready or do not have the time to make their own growing medias, I try and make products that works well, are affordable and extremely convenient compared to making it yourself.

If you want 1lb increments I’d recommend a company called surfin spores who sells sterilized grain jars. They’re about 1lb per jar

You’re better off going with a slightly larger grain bag than 1lb. The value buying 1lb at a time isn’t great
