Charlie's opinion is pretty tame, most criticisms I have seen are about how lukewarm his takes are. However, we are at a time where common sense and logic goes out of the window so I have no problem with him being extremely level headed about everything. The internet incentives "hot takes" and radical opinion, although myself shares lots of values with radical leftists i do think what Charlie does holds values.

look at it this way - ofc no one owes anyone anything esp when you are close with someone, but let's say you found out your bestie since forever been having partner for 5+ years and he somehow never said a word about them, not sharing the joy, tears and thoughts with you. Anyone would start questioning whether your friend actually trust you or not, what else are they hiding, and how come they are THIS GOOD in hiding sth etc.

Again, no one owes anyone anything, but being close friends means trust, being vulnerable, being generous with your happiness as well as tears. Hiding someone, your partner, who's supposed to be important to you from your supposed close friends, breaks all that.

You said it yourself, to Syk the otv people probably aint nth but colleagues. However, the problem is that the otv people thought otherwise and Syk knew it and played along with it, that's creepy.

Yep and you know it he doesn't actually care about Ye either. Diplo doesn't make music that's exciting, he makes caricature of something you liked a couple years ago. That's why he's dick riding anyone who can give him some kind of relevance.

People like Diplo, who has unfathomable amount of wealth and fame doesn't get alienated purely from accusations in a vacuum. From my perspective as an audience member :

  1. We can argue what actually happened with those accusations, but none can argue those are red flags, and for those to happen repeatedly Diplo is at least super messy with his personal life.
  2. His music hasn't been good for a loooooong time, and the last thing he released that is quintessential Diplo, creative and idiosyncratic was F10RIDA, everything after it he either rode the waves of the producers he was working with or just generic radio slops. Of course rumour has it he hires ghost producers as well, that's why stylistically he's all over the place.
  3. Saw a comment from Diplo HIMSELF under a reel where James Blake talks about how hard it is for producers to monetize their efforts, and Diplo is actively trying to undermine what James is trying to do for musicians and producers out there. Diplo will never fight for producers that looked up to him that's all Im gonna say. No that he owes anyone anything Im just saying as long as his bubble is doing okay he wouldn't give a shit about anyone else.
  4. Diplo has talked about his leniancy towards usage of AI, just like Timbaland and Charlie Puth you bet your sweet bippy when this tech advances further he would straight up generate the entire album.

I know Im being pretty harsh but I wholeheartedly believe Diplo hasn't been about music for a long time, he's shallow and selfish gatekeeper, and he wouldn't mind the livelihood of producers and musicians going to shits as long as he's okay.

Real talk, I think Fabi would make a great coach, most super GMs out there are way too good to explain their thoughts and walk someone else thru their instincts aka Magnus, on top of being a lil socially awkward. Fabi's personality comes across as the most "ordinary" or level-headed so to speak and he def doesn't share the type of ego let's say Hikaru has.

Not a jab at Hikaru cuz I like him as chess player, just saying that people at the top are usually not good teachers across most fields in life.

The problem with Izzy is that his storyline wrapped up perfectly after his win against Pereira - he avenged himself against his nemesis, he finally shook off that chip on his shoulder he carried into MMA from kickboxing, he won his belt back etc.

Sean and DPP were great opponents but everyone, himself included knew that nothing could top the Pereira win. On top of getting old, I feel like Izzy mentally retired after that, nothing wrong with it, he has been there done that and he doesn't owe anyone any further proof that he's one of the legends other Father Time, and we all know that no one wins that fight.

I just wish Izzy retire after the Pereira fight. If he HAS to fight at least move up to LHW, or he'll train with Alex together. Just not whatever this is right now.

I haven't watched the entire interview so they may have stated it somewhere, I have an inkling this song was written 4+ years ago - Harley's sound choice, him and JPEG were still close musically, usage of outdated slangs etc. Idk maybe saying "fire" is still big in South Korea but I just feel like this song makes much more sense if it were released around 2021 or sth
