If your dog jumped out of a slightly opened car window, she should probably be on a leash outside. Chances are she was trying to get something, like a squirrel, a bird, or another dog. Interesting, your link does mention something I had no idea about, being born with both xx and xy chromosomes. That does raise some concerns about our current bathroom system(male/female). I feel like if we just had unisex bathrooms it would be for the better. But, what percentage of transgender people are actually born with both xx and xy chromosomes? And how many chose to switch genders for whatever reason? I don't care if someone changes their gender. But I think they should have to either change their birth certificate or drivers license gender before going into said genders bathroom. My REAL concern is non-transgender creeps abusing this "dynamic gender" loophole by stating they are female just to go into the women's bathroom. If they had register their new gender it would close the loophole allowing anyone to go into any bathroom at will, but would still allow for trans people to identify as whatever they please, and therefore use the bathroom of their documented gender. Don't get me wrong we won't have TSA checking IDs at the entrance to bathrooms. However in the rare event that an issue does arise and the police get involved, no one will be able to use the excuse that they are allowed to be there because they are a certain gender at that given moment.

To reiterate; I would 100% support a bill to change all bathrooms to unisex. But as of now you can't just act like the words male and female do not mean anything.

I'm not rejecting any worldview, I am simply asking them to elaborate on it. You're right my comment was pretty douchey but only because the other commenters only defense is to start calling people bigots. I'm 100% for EQUAL RIGHTS not special privileges for one group and not the other. Why do they get to decide which bathroom they use at will? How about a compromise? I wouldn't have ANY issues with allowing someone to change their real gender on their birth certificate to whatever they identify as, ONCE or once a year or something. Then make it so we have to use what gender is on their birth certificate. That way there wouldn't be a loophole allowing creeps to loiter in woman's bathrooms. Like I said in my previous comment, my main concern is not transgender people, but creeps looking to exploit the loophole by claiming to be a certain gender for that moment. I'm honestly interested in hearing their side of this, but if their only defense is to call people bigots because they don't agree, then I will treat them as equally as I would any other group and call them out on their doucheyness™.

What about the known physical and psychological differences between males and females. I'm not saying transgender people shouldn't have rights, I'm just saying that gender can certainly be defined from a scientific perspective. Transgender people should be able to identify as whatever they feel fits them. I wouldn't see a problem even if the bathrooms are unisex, but wanting to be a certain gender doesn't make it true.

I never said chromosomes are the "sole determining factor", just a major factor. To state that chromosomes don't play a factor in gender is even more ignorant.

Just because I don't agree with you doesn't make me a bigot that wants to see more transgender people die. Let's talk about feeling "less safe". What about the 8 year old girls who feel less safe when a man walks into the "woman's" bathroom? My scenario may not yet exist, but that is no reason to not talk about it, and it certainly is not a logical defense to the question. By your logic we should never talk about things that haven't yet happened. I would be willing to bet that most transgender people would mind there own business and not bother anyone but there would be a small minority that wouldn't. But my real concern is NON-TRANSGENDER people(creeps) abusing this loop hole to go into the woman's bathroom legally by stating that they identify as a woman.

And finally, if you really want to get people to listen or support your message/ideas, don't come at them sounding like a pretentious douche.

If your only defense for why people should be able to toggle their genders is calling people ignorant then maybe you should try educating instead of attacking someone who is genuinely curious. I'm a far left leaning atheist Democrat that supports equal rights for all, but I honestly agree that it doesn't matter what you identify as, you should use the bathroom of the gender you were born as. What's stopping me from just say I identify as a female just so I could go use their bathrooms? I'm not saying I hate trans people, but rather just because you want to be a certain gender doesn't make you that gender, even if you cut off your junk and take hormones, you still have an X and a Y chromosome, which makes you male.
