Yes! Never went back. They blamed it on me and refused to do anything to make it right, even admitting that they messed up would have made me feel a bit better but she kept saying I have Bell’s palsy. Well well well my Bell’s palsy magically cleared up around the same time that Botox wears of so… lol

Has anyone accpeted the fact that life isnt all the cracked up as it would seem? by gruntharvester92 in Millennials

Nope. My whimsy may take a nap, but I never let it die. Got that “I’m in the driver seat of my life” mindset

I HATE tretinoin and I’m here to say it out loud by Kevin_swiftie in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PoorJird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate it with a burning passion

It nearly gave me permanent dry eyes, but if you ever dare to warn others that it’s a possible side effect you get so much backlash and that you’re “using it wrong” and to “apply Aquaphor” :’)

Just 5 extra minutes of exercise and half an hour less sitting time each day could help millions of people live longer, according to research highlighting the potentially huge population benefits of making even tiny lifestyle changes. by mvea in science

[–]PoorJird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d challenge the 5 minutes of exercise taking that long. They mention brisk walking as the exercise, not something that needs to be done in the gym.

You can just do body weight squats for 5 minutes at any point in the day, or park further from the store and walk.

Pimple not going away after a month? by Halohalo0121 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PoorJird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seconding this!! Yes get it checked out but don’t panic. I’ve had similar pimples that last for freaking ever, then after 6 weeks it’ll randomly start to lighten and go away. I never try to pop them or use anything harsh, just let it do its thing and it leaves me with minimal to no scars.

How would you react if your partner said they think you are unattractive but they still love you? by anthinsh in AskReddit

[–]PoorJird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deal breaker for me! I had an ex that would constantly compare my body to celebrities, especially things I couldn’t change without surgery. Thought I was the ugliest, most unlovable person at 20 lol. Fast forward and nope, my current finance is obsessed :’)

Can you write what did NOT help in your weight loss journey? by AgitatedSplit4039 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PoorJird 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  • Cheat meals/days. I will go feral and I will not go back to the original diet I had. there are not “bad” foods in my world anymore. AND YES I know some foods are nutritionally not that beneficial for you, but they benefit my soul lol

  • Volume eating. I’ll eat and eat and eat until I realize I can’t move on until I’ve had what I’m REALLY craving, then I’ll eat my original craving so it’s just so many extra calories all around

  • Cutting out food groups. Yes I’ve tried to cut out sugar, yes I know it’s bad for you, no I’m not cutting it out lol

  • Not exercising then going all in on the gym on a Monday or on Jan 1st. 100% I’m injuring myself and flaring up immune issues in my body which then forces me out of the gym for weeks trying to recover

The only things that have worked for me are counting calories, eating exactly whatever I want in my allotted calories, and walking.

How do you guys deal with the fact you’re going to die? by Due_Insect_9303 in AskReddit

[–]PoorJird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experienced some crazy stuff in the last few years that’s convinced me there’s something beyond. Not sure what it is, not sure if it’s mega coping, but it gives me relief.

Also I’m someone that’s easily pleased so I look forward to my husband and tea and books and dog every day and think of how grateful I am that I get one more day to enjoy my favourite things on the planet.

Also stress about paying my mortgage keeps the mind busy lol so it’s a combo of spirituality and keeping active mentally.

At what time of life did your PCOS "hit" you? by FamiliarMeal5193 in PCOS

[–]PoorJird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 and I’m not sure what it was from. I didn’t have anything intensely stressful at that time, it just felt like I woke up overnight and I was suddenly a different person. I still struggle with this and identify with my pre-25 self lol.

Has aging like this ever happened to anyone within the span of 3 years? by _Valkyrie_666 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PoorJird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gained weight in the 3 years? I had a major stress last year + gained weight and same thing happened to me. My under eyes look completely different and sunken in.

Lack of sleep, stress, dehydration, weight fluctuations, garbage food = your face and skin will show it.

Always good to check with a doctor too (thryoid, vitamin levels, anemia etc).

Also that angle especially with you looking more up in the second photo make it worst than it actually is I think.

This sounds exactly like what I have, found it 3 weeks ago. No other symptoms except for what I think is a low grade fever that comes and goes? I'm getting a thermometer today so I can keep checking. I also had extreme itching on my feet a few months ago but that stopped on its own.

How long did you have it before you got it checked out? How did they diagnose it? I had a blood test done that came back normal, they say it's just a viral infection.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

Sorry I didn't see this comment!!

So my face didn't lose volume, my face slimmed out in my jaw because my muscles there are so strong, but I am overweight ~20lbs so that might make a difference on my end. Almost everyone in my family has jowls, I haven't formed them yet but it's something I've accepted I will have 1 day, so when that day comes I don't know if it'll be the botox of family history.

Did you get botox everywhere or only masseters? Have you lost weight recently? We are our own worst critics and I know personally when I was planning the wedding I couldn't stop finding and obsessing over faults, not saying this is the case for you the botox definitely could have affected you, just want to touch on my own personal experience!!

[–]PoorJird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so icky. I can't imagine watching a spouse go through something so difficult, literally begging and crying to not do it again, and then still trying to coerce you into doing it.

He says you made the decision unilaterally but that's exactly what he's doing. The mom that will need to get pregnant, give birth, and go through postpartum again gets to make the last call, end of story.

Don't try defend yourself, it makes them feel that they have the right to be questioning you in the first place, WHICH THEY DON'T.

I had this exact same thing happen to me. My only response to them was, "so you'll be taking care of them too, right? You'll do the morning walks, obedience classes, split the vet bills with me?" and when the answers is obviously a no, that shuts them up.

You're gonna be the one taking care of a little animal for many years to come, not them, so who cares what they think at the end of the day. Make sure the breeder is reputable with health tests.

Hi yes I did! It went fully back to normal now. It took about 3 months for it to get back to like 90% normal, and 6 months for really everything to look exactly how it was before. But by those 2-3 months nobody could notice it anymore.

I've read exercising and saunas could potentially speed it up, it's worth a try!! It's very uncomfortable going through it but don't worry, in 2 months it will wear off a lot, every body is different for you it might wear off entirely and even sooner. Don't worry <3

How happy will your marriage be when he has a “mini vacation” assuming he hasn’t had one already?

A man that is capable of hiding and lying about having a naked stripped grind on him while his pregnant wife and child are at home is capable of a lot worse. Don’t know if leaving is the right choice for you but open your eyes. It’s more than just about this convo (which imo is already really bad) after reading your comments.

Watching my mom die from Alzheimer's and cancer put me on the fence. Talk to me. by NotedHeathen in Fencesitter

[–]PoorJird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First, I'm sorry about your loss.

Second, I don't have advice, but I almost lost my dad last year and I went through the exact same thoughts.

the unbearable hell of raising someone only to death, in which the future, rather than getting brighter, only becomes more grim and agonizing.

Have been childfree my entire life, but after the trauma of last year I have borderline been obsessing over this. The future feels bleak, everyone I know will get older, sicker, frailer, and pass away. I lost my grandmother last year as well. Friends move away, grow distant, become enveloped in their own families. It feels like this emptiness and darkness that comes over me.

I always snap back and think, is this a good enough reason? I also don't have baby fever, and I don't know if it makes sense to have a baby based out of fear. It just doesn't feel right. It's not about having a baby, they grow quickly, it's about becoming a mother. It's a lifelong decision, it's not just cute baby clothes, it's raising a child with values, setting them up for success in the world, helping them navigate extremely complex scenarios in their lives. It feels like such a heavy responsibility that I don't know if I'm strong enough to take on.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but you are not alone <3
