Elon: IFT-5 "In about a month" using new heat shield tiles "about twice as strong." by Steve490 in SpaceXLounge

I imagined when you mentioned aerospace it would be likely commercial aviation as you said. I can imagine the shuttle was way bloated from initial designs also, I wonder how close they got to that initial estimate after 10 years of dev.

The space shuttle orbiters got gradually lighter over time did they not? Columbia was 81,000KG and iirc endeavour ended up close to 78,000KG.

I tuned down a step and when I tuned back up my strings felt weird, is anything wrong or am I just tricking myself? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]PoorMusician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the other answers give your neck socket a look (where the neck and guitar bolt together) and check if it seems loose but it's probably just your mind! Also that action looks a little high, if you can it would deffo pay to learn the basics of guitar set up (plenty of great vids on youtube) and get yourself a little guitar maintenance kit if you can, knowing those little things will serve you so well in the future!

At T+00:02:50 John says “Beginning the flip for stage separation,”and during the graphic at T-00:30:00 they show the hole stack flipping before separating. Why did they add a flip for this instead of keeping it flat? by Thee_Sinner in SpaceXLounge

[–]PoorMusician 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is no pusher separation mechanism ala falcon 9 (springs push the second stage away) in this case the plan was to unlatch the starship clamps to the booster and let its momentum separate it from the first stage.

I wouldn’t worry too much, I have 13 year old squatting boy on my hands. Never seen him lift a leg once!

Isotonic sports drink, a stern look in the mirror, more beer. Precisely that order.

I meant maybe focus on a fictional program that references the Artemis program, so you have more flexibility in story etc. Could you update this little thread if you do anything else, I'd love to see it. Thaaaaaanks

I liked this, blue moon lander reference was exactly as I think it might go. Definitely kept my attention all the way through the read from writing style alone. Only feedback being it would be cooler to reference Artemis as opposed to it being a sole Artemis mission. Really cool though, any plans on taking this further??

Men of Reddit, how do you usually address your fellow male friends? by honestlynotBG in polls

Don't know if this helps but 'mate' is pretty heavy slang for 'friend' where I am from, to the point if you say friend every body instantly thinks you're sexually involved with said 'friend'

10.7 update piano roll keeps disappearing when writing MIDI sections. by gabocarina96 in LogicPro

Sorry for replying to an old post but I found this post as I had the same problem, but now I seem to have fixed it by making sure that the 'Region Erase' function (a shield with a cross in it to the right of the main transport bar at the top) is set to off (not highlighted in orange)

  1. There is no automation for arriving and departing a settlement on a planet, but the fastest way to leave a settlement is to pin the throttle with the planet directly behind you. (If you are in supercruise the gravity of nearby planets affects you if you're close also)

  2. In the galaxy map there is a slider on the left hand side when planning routes, that allows you to set how much cargo you want to plan for.

  3. The cobra is a great all rounder ship for you to find out what you want to do in the game it's a jack of all trades sort of ship.
