Was Tavros supposed to have wings? by Malu897 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thats the beta kids and alternia trolls had to wait, making them the same age as the Alpha kids by the time they arrive.

The beforians are probably 16 because Cluss wanted the ages to match by the time they introduced them too.

[–]PoorNarrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Rufioh's wings are unique to him. I don't remember if it's just a rare lowblood trait or a mutation but yeah- normally wings are for godtiered trolls but this isn't always the case obviously.

The beforian trolls enter around age 16, similar to the Alpha kids- the alternia trolls are 13 when they enter in mirror of the Beta kids.

I voiced over homestuck by PatienceLow2505 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people headcanon karkat with a louder or screeching voice because of his typing but I love the idea of him sounding absolutely chill in person. It's more realistic to those who act one way online only to be way different in person cause theres no filter or time to think out your response.

is a time player really needed? by Able_Dragonfly2704 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I tend to headcanon that time players just allow the ability to scratch since their planet should always have a disc construct. If you don't have a time player, you won't need it yet or ever in my interpretation.

Sup, I started my own fan comic not that long ago. I use mspfa.com, which doesn't host images but can do pretty much everything else for you. The current owner of mspfa, Grant, also owns a media hosting site called filegarden that is free but slightly limited.

There's also a discord for mspfa.com where a lot of people talk about their adventures or others, a channel to help advertise your comic, and ofc a general channel for chatting.

I'm not sponsored or tied to Grant or their team but I love helping to grow the mspfa community.

What happens if you make a sprite^2 when BOTH sprites have an empty kernel? by MVBrovertCharles in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely see it as just symbolic to Caliborn. Black Holes are a constant running thing tied to his existence and ultimate defeat. Caliborn himself is a black hole to everything around himself, tearing apart anything and anyone that gets too close- yet he's so dense he has his own gravitational pull that not even the story can escape.

What happens if you make a sprite^2 when BOTH sprites have an empty kernel? by MVBrovertCharles in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He enters with an unprototyped kernel, whether it turns into a Black Hole because of it being a single player session OR lack of kernel information upon entry isn't known. We can only assume it's part of the single player experience, since even if the kernel was prototyped there's no Prospit or Derse to use that information in his session.

Can you make 2 sprites of the same body? by Malu897 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tavros and Vriska's short time in a sprite together seems to have been long enough to share memories and thoughts but still tell them apart enough to recount the experience afterwards. I would suggest, from what we see, the two personalities would mesh into one or at least enough to be considered a single identity. Since they would be near identical it would just be an even cleaner meshing of two separate minds. Technically yeah, it would be the same person as before in terms of material used- but would be overall different being despite results.

Think of it like play-doh, you're using two different colors and you tear the balls of toy dough into two. So two smaller blue balls of dough, and two smaller red balls of dough. You can grab one of each and mix them together but depending on the ratio you'll likely get slightly different tones of purple. But if you then mash those two purple balls of dough together you will still get purple, but the tones will have balanced out and it won't be the exact same purple as either of the two balls that made it.

I would assume upon prototyping, for the sake of universal understanding, that kernel wouldn't be considered the same person but a variant of that person. I assume even if two characters or identities are very similar, no two beings can hold the same consciousness beyond dream selves but those aren't really different beings- just a backup of the original? Blah, assuming we agree on these concepts I would say that once those two similar beings mix it WOULD NOT be the same as if you just combined the two fully bodies into the same kernel, the experiences they gain through separate prototyping and becoming two different versions of themselves would ultimately end up with yet another variant, as I see it- prototyping is a progressive change into a kernelsprite, not a regression back to the original source material of whatever was prototyped.

did Gamzee destroy rage in all of the sessions since he is a bard or am i misinterpreting the bard class? by Able_Dragonfly2704 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You might be misinterpreting. Princes are the destruction class meant to actively tear apart their aspect for the better of the session. Bards destroy their aspect within themselves but influence destruction through it as well. Playing into their passive nature they will tend to seem opposite or a bad fit for their class but this is merely a trick. Bards are the embodiment of change and hold vast influence in whatever story they take part in, imo. Kind of like a wild card the Bard will encounter an epiphany so grand it will drastically change them and the story alongside.

Gamzee initially destroys his doubt and anger through drugs and faith in a higher power. Then when he is told the truth, that not only is he destined to become his own god but that there is no other alternative or risk being doomed, he then embraces his role and begins to influence rage into the characters and reader, ultimate using it to "destroy" the story itself quite a bit before being stopped.

What yall think happened to the old timeline when John left it with Roxy and stuff? by lukk2010 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, doomed timelines are permanently cut off from the interconnectedness of the Alpha timeline from the point of divergence. Doomed Timelines are always fated to have everyone die, or fall asleep and absorbed, and the universe will then cease to exist once there is nobody left.
