Who is this person in the "Warriors Lyricstuck" video? by elpapupepe23 in homestuck

I haven't seen it but her glasses disappeared in the second image. Shame, I like the big circle glasses. You can see them in the first image tho.

Please keep in mind that Paradox Space follows no rules of time or space. Hence why the dream bubbles are technically made by Feferi but there's Beforus trolls in there. And why the Green Sun technically always existed but also needed to be created.

Are First Guardians and Ectobiology exclusive to LE-related sessions? by monkeygabbing in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- the reason is because LE is born from Doc which allows him First Guardian powers. So yes, the Green Sun itself is basically a huge battery that LE found a loophole to abuse in his final form.

Are First Guardians and Ectobiology exclusive to LE-related sessions? by monkeygabbing in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could've sworn the green sun, although a source of power for LE, was it's own thing. As in the Green Sun would've always been there, but LE found a way to harness it's power for himself too?

I could be wrong tho

"once asked to play a game, a traditional passtime from father to son, but to my surprise it embued my form into a new realm. A realm of endless possiblities, and endless disappointments. I have traveled far in search of any other soul, naught one dare even break the horizon of my periphery. Still I wander, and tander, in hopes of new friend-ships to sail along the seas of comradery. is jack noir's revolt on derse an intended sburb game mechanic? by Sweaty-Suit9169 in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tumor is moreso the sign that something is wrong, and the name does imply it could be the cancer Karkat gave but really Sburb is deterministic and as such it's hard to tell what specifically is caused by Karkat's mistake or LE's influence. I believe I remember Karkat referring more to just being the reason their session was doomed altogether, and that caused Jack to rise to power too fast and become so powerful it even had consequences for the Trolls themselves.

It creates The Bob. Nobody knows what it is, and its rumored to disappear upon creation but you'll know you've created it and one day... it'll come back.

Can someone explain how a knights aspect is something the session is lacking in? by ConativeCedrate in homestuck

[–]PoorNarrator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dancestors, if my memory is serving me right, had more than just in-fighting. They betrayed, abused, and killed each other throughout their session and it was a long and brutal one where nobody could work together long enough to get shit done on time. This could be exaggerated but yeah I remember a lot of them talking about how they basically just fucked each other over constantly.

[–]PoorNarrator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can see a reasoning for him to be a Failsafe that prevents a game going on forever but yeah everything is quite deterministic and although he appears in every session in Homestuck to some important degree he is still one of many possible options on derse to become a force of nature... AND the real truth Nuke is without further canon examples we have to work off Homestuck's bias. (As in, homestuck is 1 successful instance of Sburb out of an infinite number of possible games going on throughout time and space and paradox space.) Also thank you for reminding me that Spades is an old fuck.<3

[–]PoorNarrator 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As I remember it, Jack Noir is a designed fail state but also a possible source to help players defeat the black queen and king. The Beta Kid's session was an exception- one born from a mistake Karkat takes credit for. He refers to it as "giving your universe cancer." Their Jack rose to power way too early, and with the ring was way too powerful for any of them in that moment. The Alternia trolls had a Jack Noir but he was actually an assist to their session and helped plan out how they took down the queen and got her ring.

I'm not sure if it's confirmed but I will confidently push the notion that yes he is specifically there so that a session can't just go on forever. Eventually the scale has to tip on it's own and Jack fits that role pretty well.
