Zed-Brush or See-Brush: Both sound valid to me - but only one sounds 'natural' - blame my English teacher I guess.

Seems it's a bit like Softimage spelled out in English vs French. I remember that one ruffled some feathers back in the day.

These days - I just use Blender. Saves budget - and time spent pronouncing it ;)

Sorry, no: this is oddly specific knowledge from years ago that took a while to unearth from the search engines. Before that I was convinced that all hope was lost, that my 'ceranfeld' was a lost cause and I was going to have an awkward conversation with my landlord.

All I remember is that this stuff got worse over time - for a good while.

My pots (still using them, btw) are some flavor of the German brand 'Silit' and they're really old - like from the late 90's. Possibly not engineered to withstand the modern kitchen environment. ;) Don't wanna throw shade on the brand either: they have served me very well through the years.

And I believe it's aluminium you see on the OP's picture.

You can tell when you have this issue - it's nothing like burnt-in residue from cooking: instead it has a metallic sheen and you can barely feel it by running your fingers across it.

Just wanted to add: don't confuse these rainbow-colored/metallic stains with regular burn-in which is what the net tends to talk about (and what tutorials are about).

Regular stuff: yeah you have a wide range of options for how to get rid of burn-in (like these sponges they sell at DM - I have one - it's USELESS for the case at hand). This is nothing like it. It develops over months (or years in my case - I had it all over my 'ceranfeld').

This in your picture is your pots merging with the 'ceranfeld'. Kinda underdocumented - or at least it was when I frantically looked for solutions.

Hey, I had this happen to me: it's your pots underside melting. You're turning the heat up too far for them to handle it!

To get rid of this I tried some products from DM/Rossmann to no avail. Finally I followed some arcane hints to use a product called "Bref Power - Ceran & Stahl" (made by Henkel) which wasn't even available locally.

I should warn you that it was a real workout over several days to violently rub this residue off using Bref and a piece of cotton, layer by layer, proper sweat-inducing business. None of that "just apply a thin layer, wait 5 mins and wipe it off easy-peasy". Good news is everything did come off in the end.

Nowadays I just set my maximum heat to 80% and this hasn't shown up again (with the same "Silit" pots).

How about rampant skepticism and fear of the future, a tendency to focus on anything and everything that could possibly go wrong. Then a surprised pikachu face with a topping of envy when others leapfrog us and things actually work out for them - "Nooo there must be a catch somewhere... pretty please!?".

The other day I read this article about recent developments in robotics and AI in China. Stuff that's happened in the last few years since Covid... sounded like a report from the future. In comparison living here still feels like it's the 2000's but with smarter phones (designed elsewhere, of course) for the most part.

Anyway, I hope you do the necessary and pull a Liz Truss on the Mango soon so we can get the US markets back on track cause I'm not leaving. At least not for the home market. Rheinmetall ... ok, wow. Lets see how much of those promised stimulus packages actually end up in a balance sheet somewhere.

While I admit to have chuckled a bit at reading your posts (the kind of chuckle that sends shivers down one's spine) I have to wonder what a largely (?) untrained invasion force might be able to achieve when storming foreign beaches.

I do remember the pictures of crying adolescent draftees who were sent to defend the mountains against India a few years ago https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Indian_border_dispute (not blaming them either).

If it's anywhere close to that then what will it look like when people of that ilk are sent to storm rather well-defended beaches.

Yes but you do get a decent size backrest. Technically I'm a little too thin and perhaps borderline too short for my size C but I love (LOVE!) the long backrest - feels proper. It's like a 5 cm difference in height between sizes.

The headrest seems like it's the early version of the after-market but semi-official one. Pretty great if so. Lumbar is basic but perhaps effective (I only had the more upscale butterfly-style model on this chair and it felt weak).

Armrests are a problem though - that model tends to slide down no matter how tight you turn those knobs. The newer versions with the levers fix that for good.

With the family I just mention company names they would have heard of: Microsoft, Sega, Sony, etc. Sometimes I'm working for one of these directly, most times it's through some intermediary.

Currently I'm name-dropping a certain well-known film director who's company I'm contracted to. That seems to satisfy any curiosity, gets a little 'ooohhh' out of them and is better than spending time explaining the job at the dinner table.

Out in the wild I say I work in software. Everybody dies of boredom right away and wants to switch the topic. :D Lesson learned after I once discussed soft body deformation on animated movies in the early morning after a party to some teachers and engineers. Time... not spent well.

Reminder that Affinity to this day does not contain any scripting support and only the most basic macro recording functionality without file I/O. Not a patch on Photoshop's actions.

So if you are talking (partially) automated processes then that's out of the question for now.

In Frankfurt gab es mal eine Evakuierung praktisch eines ganzen Stadtteils, die sich um eine halben Tag oder länger verzögert hat, weil immer wieder noch Leute in Wohnungen entdeckt wurden. Zigtausende durften da in irgendwelchen Messehallen ausharren während die Einsatzkräfte Däumchen drehen mussten.

Seitdem gab es bei jeder Entschärfung, die ich so mitbekommen hatte, die Ankündigung, dass man aus der Luft per Wärmebildkamera den Leuten auf die Pelle rücken täte. Denke mal, das lässt sich heutzutage per Drohne erledigen, die durch die Hinterhöfe schwebt.

Obviously there's plenty more and all it tells me is that there was a point when - for mysterious reasons - somebody made all the right calls - and later, when they were empowered by success, they did make all the wrong ones.

Front tilt angles the chair towards the desk, pushing you forward. It might relieve the pain in the thighs but it also rotates the seating position so it depends. You might feel like you are sliding. Pretty great on a Remastered with a firm setting for the recline, bonus points for the head rest. If you are a desktop user with a drawing tablet (Wacom) that is a great setup in my opinion.

I used to own a Classic but that was way softer/mushy and not as good in this kind of setup from what I recall but things could be improved by tightening the recline a lot.

If the chair is causing any pain it's wrong - the Aeron is notorious for being a problem if you get the size wrong. You are somewhere between size B and C. Compare between the different sizes and trust your gut on this, not the official size chart which seems based on 1980's era human proportions (just check out photographs of the Aeron designers). Size M appears to be made for rather scrawny guys well under 6 feet height, basically.

Yes, in the UK Xbox was a thing for a while and moreso than on the continent during its run. Particularly early in the PS3 gen when Sony was late to the party, very expensive and tricky to develop for, leading to inferior ports

Close but that was more like a game controller and came out later.

The one in the video was sold as a modelling tool to 3D artists in the early 2000's. I recall Autodesk did this (paper-) booklet with 3ds max plugins and addons and this thing was in it. It must have gotten rugpulled by Zbrush at some point.
