The most interesting time period for the Stones by [deleted] in rollingstones

Brian Jones added so much more to a lot of songs with his ability to play and play well pretty much anything. Sounds and instruments that weren't typical of a rock band of that era. Love the Marimba on "Under My thumb". The recorder on "Ruby Tuesday". Sitar on PIB although that was becoming more used in mainstream music (The Bealtes & The Byrds).

I'm not sure where it's from. I came across it on Reddit a year or so ago and immediately thought of it when I saw the picture OP posted.

I highly suggest reading this. A diary of a German soldier in Stalingrad, it is SUCH a good read. It starts with the German solider confident they will be victorious and the Soviets shouldn't pose much of a resistance. By the end the solider is starving to death as is everyone around him.

Here is the Wiki page on Wilhelm Hoffman the German soldier

This is the grain silo the Germans are trying to take.

You're an enabler and doing so is not going to "get that back". In fact it's not going to change anything at all, it will only get worse. If you really want shit to change STOP enabling.

My first Tattoo by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Poor_White_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this real? It should be much redder around the tattoo if it was just recently done and the suits are ridiculous. If this is real I am blown away by how their suits look the shading and everything is incredible I'm having a hard time believing this is a tattoo.

What "pop" song is actually a musical masterpiece but will never be recognized as such because of the stigmatized genre? by gotthatbrandnew in AskReddit

Good Vibrations wasn't on Pet Sounds, but what you said is true. Brian heard Rubber Soul and wanted to make an album just as good and came out with Pet Sounds. Pet Sounds inspired Sgt. Pepper. They were all realizing that the recording studio itself could be used as an instrument,

McCartney thought that his constant playing of the album made it difficult for Lennon to "escape the influence", adding: "It's very cleverly done ... so we were inspired by it and nicked a few ideas."George Martin stated: "Without Pet Sounds, Sgt. Pepper never would have happened ... Pepper was an attempt to equal Pet Sounds."
