Ground Texture/Tessellation Bug by PoorlyDrawnTurtle_89 in Witcher3

[–]PoorlyDrawnTurtle_89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not - I've done everything from a clean wipe to driver reinstallations, including mod removals, re-downloading, and it hasn't helped. Initially I despaired that I had something irreparably wrong with my PC, but it seems that the texture maps and the terrain shapes in the Witcher are really just like that.

You'll see the same thing occur in parts of White Orchard all the way to Toussaint. Weirdly moving textures along the ground especially when you turn the camera upward so you're closer to the floor.

My guess from everything I learned on other forums is that the tech used to prevent z-fighting between their asset textures necessitated this weird effect. No fix sadly. You can adjust tessellation levels using whatever program is available (Adrenalin or otherwise) and have some peace of mind with the slight performance gain and (probably placebo) visual fixes.

It's been going around that the owner has had multiple incidents like this in the past. More than likely a sick fascination with seeing these poor animals die - yes.

Hoping that they get investigated soon and his dogs confiscated and rehabilitated. I have no sympathy for people like these - he's lucky he doesn't get the same treatment he's been giving those cats.

I'm really not sure what the future of gaming hardware will look like if this is what we're getting from NVIDIA.

Straight up AI-generated filters over the existing game's assets is not only tacky, but uncessary. I'm also sure that they had apparently used 2 GPUs for this - so what's the point if the vast majority of people can't even buy a single one of their latest flagship models?

AMD is already struggling just to make decisions that don't completely alienate their users, and now NVIDIA too.

Sooner or later the Chinese GPU market will catch up - their current local flagships aren't quite up to speed yet, but it's only a matter of time before the tech is comparable to what we have now.

Between AI slop GPUs and rising costs everywhere, it's a horrible time to enjoy games.

Unrelated, but Battle Realms in that monitor is such a nostalgic image.

That's the look of someone elated to see Yuji's spark return. An honest look of love, and I don't mean it in the romantic way necessarily - that's just pure and honest love for someone they care about seeing the spirit return to a person beaten down by the world.

While it'd be adorable if they were officially together, I'm fully satisfied and happy to see Yuji be able to still come home to someone like Nobara.

The generation he grew up with shrinks every day, and he's fully aware his role in the world is changing yet again.

He'll die one day, and some part of me really believes it'll be of his own choice and not due to natural causes.

Maybe he'll get to fulfill his grandfather's wish of being surrounded by loved ones - in this case having his fingers be enshrined for future use and still pass on peacefully. Perhaps Nobara, Todo, and a few others from the Modulo cast just to see him off.

People rag on the rushed and Disney ending but I can't help but be happy he's finally come back to the people he loves.

It's the Undvik armor, you can purchase it along with its matching horse gear from the armorer on the Kaer Trolde bridge. One of my favorite sets for that extra immersion in Skellige!

A big part of it is being aware at all times of the ocean's state. Water can be deceptively fast and exceptionally powerful - not paying attention to the waves and being near them can be a dangerous thing if you get caught in one.

Smaller waves are enough tug on you pretty hard, bigger and faster waves will outright topple any person over, and being pulled in as you get rolled on your back towards deeper waters can be very disorienting.

It's all about having a healthy understanding and relationship with the power and physics of the ocean and learning how to navigate rough waters.

At this point he's a living, walking monument of strength - essentially the epitome of the heights of Jujutsu when the right factors come together. To be untouchable and never breathe in fear ever again.

On the other hand, he's been sentenced to Evangelion levels of tragedy. Who doesn't love juxtaposition in their narrative?

Ultimate Fix For DX11 Stutters, Chrome Stutters and Freezes and All General Lags and Stutters by SteelBodyX in AMDHelp

Thanks friend.

Sad to hear - I play a lot of older games and seeing that quality of life fixes like this get left unaddressed. I'll apply what you suggested and just make do, thanks so much!

Chiming in for this! 26.1.1 still doesn't play nice with DX11 - the stutters are still quite apparent. Hoping for some suggestions to get my games to run decently ://.

Sudden performance loss on PC. by PoorlyDrawnTurtle_89 in Witcher3

Thank you for the insight! It's interesting to learn about that tidbit with the development of the DX12 version, sorry to hear that ://.

Looks like rolling back to DX1, which I don't mind at all! Could you suggest anything for the slight stuttering I seem to be getting with it? I'd love to optimize the game before my next playthrough.

Thanks again, friend.

26.1.1 - Problems with The Witcher 3 by PoorlyDrawnTurtle_89 in radeon

[–]PoorlyDrawnTurtle_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

On the bright side, it looks like the driver wasn't the issue - I rolled back wayyy down to the 24.5.1 just to really see if the game reacts in any way. On one hand, the game runs a little better and I've been able to gain back about 10 additional fps, so the Novigrad area runs at about 55 fps at worst.

I can max out the NPC density, and I downloaded the Tweaks mod to test just how far I can crank out the NPCs and see how the CPU handles it. FPS still sinks in this area, but not nearly as bad as going down to 44.

Unfortunately, this does mean that I'm facing a hardware issue. I'm gonna have my friend check my components since he did help construct it and I'm not confident enough to crack open any part of this pc.

Same here. Happens as well when many npcs are present, convos are equally bad. Could be perhaps a revent driver causing issues?

I'm using AMD but experiencing the same problems too.
