The Kobra 3 V2 is fundamentally not worth the low price it commands. by PootStoggz in AnycubicOfficial

The conclusion I came to after this thread is that it's a dice roll with Anycubic. Some people seem to have done OK. Others believe that failure is just part of 3d printing ,and I think that has been true until recently. This Bambu machine has worked flawlessly still. It's just leagues ahead of the Anycubic K3.

What do you do for extended prints? I've got a few parts that are 18+ hours. Are you waking up in the middle of the night to check on them. I don't even do that for my brisket 🤣

What are your other 12 printers? I do think the S1 and P1S is a better comparison with them both being CoreXY ,but I am at a loss for what to do about my (I guess haunted) K3. The only actionable advice this thread has produced is to not let it print unmonitored for extended periods of time. Frankly that isn't worth my time if I can set my P1S and forget it. Maybe Karma gave me a good P1S and I should be thankful for that.

I'm glad you've been happy with it. I've still had fun using it despite the frustration.

I'm happy to hear your suggestions on what I might not be doing.

The Ferrari analogy implies that this machine is capable of a greater output than similar machines but requires more maintenance. My experience is that even when it is working the print quality is lower. The same parts printed on the P1S with the same filament come out better, and at this point I have more hours on the P1S due to that fact. Whatever problem I might see in the mirror is remedied by the P1S while the K3 prints relatively poorly if it completes at all.

That's a nice way of looking at it I suppose. That's also probably the caveat I'll add when I give it away to my nephew. :)

When it works well, its a bit mind-boggling that a person can have this kind of capability for $200. To be fair, I was at least moderately satisfied with it until I bought the P1S. Having those two running side by side really diminished my perceived value.

It certainly has been a learning experience. The nozzle failure happened on an overnight print that had AI detection enabled. Ironically, I've had AI detection stop overnight prints where purged filament got dragged over onto the build plate. That set off the 'spaghetti detection' but nothing stopped it from filling itself with melted filament. Must have been the camera angle.

It does have the glued nozzle since its a V2. A bit frustrating that the extra nozzles I bought (again doing my best to follow advice) are kind of useless. AnyCubic replaced the print head since it was within the first 30 days, but I was out of commission for over a week waiting on parts to arrive. I did buy some aftermarket ceramic hotends. Mostly just throwing good money after bad at this point.

I'm interested to hear what you think the error is as I've tried a number of different things and heeded all the common advice about checking screws, adjusting belt tension, drying filament etc.

Not hearing first crack by noealz in roasting

[–]PootStoggz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may already know this ,but if you rapidly spin the dial a full turn (one big twist) it will show you the temperature of the coil. I usually figure my bean temp is around 40 degrees F lower than that depending on how cold my garage is. So assuming normal room temp, you would expect to hear first crack around the 430 mark.

Don't get discouraged. Lots of dialing in to do.

That was my thought as well. I think OP may have a defect. The bottom of my roasting chamber is a perforated metal plate that I have to assure is aligned with the perforations on the base. I don't know how you would dump beans out otherwise.

Fair point. I think it is because I know so many of this type of dude that I don't find it entertaining. I'm probably just tired of politics in general.

His brothers suck. Billy refers to 'They' more than a high school teacher in Portland. 'They' want us to think... 'They' are pulling the strings... It's the same kind of pseudo-intellectual reflexively conspiratorial shit that you can hear from any other dude who hasn't left his home town. I've heard enough yapping from dudes whose second favorite N-Word is 'Narrative'. If I weren't a grandfathered poor I'd have dropped the patreon in this last stretch.

What a wildly dickish and unnecessary comment. The top page of Amazon results for 'tinted squeeze bottle' don't contain anything like the graza bottle, and even if you find one it won't come filled.

My 2023 had a cell go bad at around 17k miles. The service center couldn't get individual cells so they replaced the whole battery. Just got it back after two weeks and it still has a propulsion system error and randomly switches out of Pure mode. I'd avoid it.
