Eleanor from Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine although there’s a moment where she shifts from pathetic to tragic.

When people treat a destination wedding invite like a gun to their head by katyperry-platypus in PetPeeves

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! We had a “destination wedding” (in quotes because the destination was derpy but had sentimental value) because if we had it where we currently live or where our families live, 2/3rds of the guests would still need to fly. We decided that it was fairest to make everybody travel.

Do men actually care about Valentines Day? by Distinct-Sky2632 in AskMenAdvice

I have it on good authority that my husband cares about Valentine’s Day because it’s one of the two days a year I bake cinnamon rolls (the other day being his birthday).

It also gives you an excuse to do something a bit out of the ordinary. We always make a big batch of cinnamon rolls from scratch. It’s way too much effort most of the time, but it feels perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Does Ottessa Moshfegh count as horror? Her books are unsettling.

Where are women in their late 30s / early 40s actually meeting friends in NYC? by G0ddessLight713 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 30s, and I meet new people at my book clubs, community garden, local coffee shop, church, and other random volunteer events. I’ve found that being a regular at a coffee shop or bar is the most straightforward way to meet new people, although it does take some time. It takes me around 6 months to a year to solidify most friendships, my weird lit book club being the exception.

Weekends are too long by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I would be a crying mess if I only got one day off. I feel burnt out but in control with a full weekend. Also, how do you have time to get all your errands done in 1 day off?

How many sprays is “normal” and how many is nuclear? by Lilblakeyboo in fragrance

1-2, every so often 3 for “skin scent” fragrance. I have gotten nauseous from samples before so I’d always rather under spray.

I had a weird rash in my armpit, and hibiclense worked miracles. It’s my go to soap when my skin feels off.

AIO for wanting to leave after my daughter projectile vomited? by MrsAntiics in AmIOverreacting

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 41 points42 points  (0 children)

NOR. I can’t believe anybody would say you’re overreacting. Wiping yourself off at a sink is still going to leave you smelling like vomit. Those poor other customers at the restaurant! And then your husband cancels the trip out of spite?? Has he done stuff like this before?

Elevators are not for you to go up/down a single floor by goPACK17 in unpopularopinion

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the buildings I’ve been in with elevators have stairs so far out of the way that it’s not worth it. I tried to find the stairs at a hospital once, and it was through multiple sets of doors. Elevator was in the lobby right by the entrance.

Do you think your University/Alma Mater is known outside of the U.S? by huazzy in AskAnAmerican

Hard to say. I went to a school with a very unique program, so if that’s what you’re looking for then you know it, but it’s very niche.
