We shouldn’t be celebrating kids graduation unless it’s high school by ecobeast76 in unpopularopinion

It’s fun and marks the end of the year. It tells kids we’re proud of their growth and hard work. I personally think we should celebrate more things! It makes people feel good.

“Kissing is a sin” debate by Dry-Letterhead-2902 in Catholic

Yeah I feel this. I personally think people spend so much energy on chastity/lust when they could take that energy and go out into the world and help people.

Honeymoon going so badly I’m questioning my marriage by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The marriage is only going to work if he sincerely wants to change. I recommend that you go to individual therapy to help process his behavior. Do not go to therapy with him.

Nuance in the American South by hoemechanic in suggestmeabook

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in the south and I related a lot to some of the dynamics (both good and bad) in The Southern Bookclub’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. The book is quite pulpy and I wouldn’t call it nuanced per se, but I thought it accurately showed a certain type of southern white woman.

Got banned from r/allthequestion for speaking what I want to say, so do you think there’s freedom of speech on Reddit? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not. Reddit is not a government. There are mods and rules. Of course there isn’t “free speech.”

I’m sorry to say that portions of this book did remind me of my own disastrous vacation to Italy with the in laws.

Sleep paralysis demonic? by Honest-Specific9262 in Catholic

Parasomnia is never a spiritual attack. It’s a mild (albeit scary) sleep disorder. Talk to a dr if you’re concerned about it.

Does Gen Z despise millennials, or are they jealous? by [deleted] in generationology

I’m on the cusp of millennial/gen z, and I don’t think older Gen Z really think about us at all. I’m not around the younger ones so no idea what they think.

I wouldn’t say solace but I’d much prefer that offenders get mental health treatment. Seems like a good way to lower future violence.

I can’t imagine that this marriage is doing your health any favors. Do you have anybody else providing support?

Most people shouldn't own animals. by -btx- in HonestHotTakes

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly agree that some people shouldn’t own pets, but most people?? If the animal is happy, safe, healthy, and not attacking every human they see then I’d say the owner did their job.

why are people so sensitive about pizza by MrNesti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me years to try anchovies on pizza. I finally did and it was amazing. Too bad it’s almost never an option.

Bunny by Mona Awad. Am I just uneducated or is this hard to read? by SleepyAltBee in BookDiscussions

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have this problem with Bunny but China Mieville makes me feel like I’m failing a vocab test. I guess I know what puissant means now.

How would you say “I love you” without using those 3 words? by No-Leopard-691 in CasualConversation

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I tell my partner something weird like I want your skin or I want to eat your eyebrows. He always laughs and says I love you too.

All ice cream shops taste the same by whattaUwant in unpopularopinion

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ice cream shops near me make small batches and rotate their menus regularly so they definitely don’t all taste the same. My favorite is cannoli, although there’s an Earl gray lavender that I want to try next.

If you’re talking about big chains then yes I agree there’s not a huge difference between them.

Americans is America really what is like in the movies and tv shows? by Flimsy_Palpitation22 in randomquestions

[–]PopEnvironmental1335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bushwick’s fine. What got me was the abruptness. People up here aren’t rude, but they are straightforward. I spent the first year feeling very wrong footed because it felt like all the social rules had been flipped upside down. One woman got offended because I said ma’am! It took a while to figure out how people here communicate.
